“Loving the Bellagio but not our room”

Bellagio Las Vegas

Nov 5, 2008

Although the hotel itself is beautiful, as you would expecting In Las Vegas, our room (front facing looking at the fountains) was not. It was dusty and drab; the shower leaked profusely and there was an empty shoe box in one of the drawers when we arrived - and for all I know is still there! Having said that - the restaurants and bars in the Bellagio are excellent The Buffet must be one of the best in Las Vegas - particularly breakfast. The O show is magnificent as is Love in the Mirage. Both should not be missed.
This was our second visit and again we had a wonderful time but the hotel room to say the least was dissapointing. considering it is a world famous 5 star.

“Nice hotel..but, beware of greetings...”

Very good hotel. Nice amenities. Lovely aesthetics.

One concern, though. I said hello to one of the hotel cleaning supervisors as I exited my room one morning and was met with a dirty look and a stiff..."hello"....as though I had the gall to actually speak to this woman.

I think the Bellagio should review their choice of staff more carefully.
Perhaps this unfortunate encounter had much to do with the terrible socio-economic racial disparities in the U.S ....
At any rate, there was obviously alot of anger in this person, and boy did it reflect badly on this magnificent hotel.

Other than that, we enjoyed Bellagio's fabulous restaurants, the amazing shopping (Chanel is open until midnight Saturdays).
Will stay again, but will be careful about who I say 'hi' to in future!

“Fantastic!”

Bellagio Las Vegas

Just returned from a 5 night stay in the wonderful Bellagio. First time to Vegas and on good recommendation from friends we decided to treat ourselves and stay in the Bellagio. The hotel is fantastic and after visiting most of the other hotels on the strip has got to be one of the best in terms of location, atmosphere and style. Admittingly it is vast and the main entrance/foyer represents a busy airport terminal, however as soon as you get into the guest elevators, it is like a different world. We were on the 22nd floor which was very peaceful and had a lake view which is a must. The view is fantastic, not just of the fountains but of the main part of the strip and the surrounding mountains. Also at the back of the hotel there is a lot of neighbouring construction so I can't imagine the view being all that great at the moment.

Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much hassle, from sorting out night club guest lists to rounds of golf they were excellent. The hotel was spotless and each evening a turn down service and extra towells, chocolates were left for us.

The pools are spectacular and due to the fab weather were busy most days. We were a little disappointed that it was 25$ each to use the gym, however you could have full use of the spa facilities in the price.

The hotel is linked with Caesers Palace and that is also a great place - the Forum shops are numerous and have every designer you can think of.

Food can be expensive in Vegas, however the buffets in the hotels are a good option. We had a buffet in the Caesers Palace, however we were more impressed with the one in the Luxor hotel, fab value and strangely far far more choice than Caesers Palace.

The Bellagio made our stay in vegas very special, it is in the most perfect location and you really felt on holiday. I would really recommend it.

“Two Faces - Sun to Thur "Beautiful" Fri to Sun AM "Disgusting"”

Bellagio Las Vegas

4 of 5 stars

Our arrival Sunday 10/26/08 was awful; thousands checking out and two hours to check in. No bellman was OK, but two hours to check in was b-r-u-t-a-l. For our first time to Vegas, we thought we made a HUGE mistake. The registration desk gave us a "go to the front of the buffet line pass" as compensation. YIKES. We reserved a suite for a week.

Monday to Thursday was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. The only real negative about the Bellagio is that, when wearing expensive clothing, you should know that you will smell like your a chain smoker. The air lift system in this place is markedly behing the Wynn and Mandalay Bay that we visited. To avoid the smoke you can book a room in the SPA Tower and you can avoid the casino. All other rooms you MUST WALK RIGHT THROUGH THE SMOKE. You will smell in one pass.

Friday night the internet specials arrived. Groups of 22-26 year olds; heavy drinkers, smokers and loud - in the casino and in the room - if they got one. YIKES. Our $575 dollar room didn't get a turn down, towels, soaps, etc.; the desk appologized because they were so busy. Sure, with the $150 internet special rooms! Very shoddy treatment at the end of very pleasant week. We tried to talk to a "MAS or MAP" manager but he wouldn't assist the desk clerk and they offered only a small reduction in our rate. He was poor at math as we (1) didn't eat (2) didn't gamble and (3) didn't drink at the Bellagio that day. And FYI, we spent more than room rate per day for our fun. Again, poor decision-making in the crunch; and we likely will go to the Wynn or Mandalay Bay in January instead.

Also, the place looked like a Sheraton on the weekend. Everything was dirty everywhere; inside and out side. Walking around beer bottles, girlie cards, cigars, napkins, etc. on the walkway on Saturday morning was disgusting. When we checked out the desk clerk just said they were sorry for the way things went on the last night; and that we should call them next time. We didn't thing that soap, towels, etc. needed to be called for at a rack rate of $575. She said it wouldn't happen again; I know that it will not.

Overall, its too bad the down side was so down because the place is beautiful. It should be a five star; it just needs management.
