“Nice place, but lots of glitches on our stay”

Overall, I think the Palazzo is a very nice hotel. We stayed there for six days at the end of October 2008 and we enjoyed much of our stay.

We did have a number of problems which were VERY annoying at the beginning of our stay which really set the tone for the rest of it unfortunately. To begin with, we booked the "concierge level" suite, which is advertised as "free breakfast, afternoon hors d'eouvres, and evening cocktails and appetizers every day. More on this in a minute.

When you check in for a concierge level suite, you are supposed to go to the 23rd floor and check in so you don't habve to wait in the very long lines in the main lobby. We called ahead with our travel itinerary and were told to go to the 23rd floor until 11pm. We arrived at 10:30 and had to cross a VERY smoky (yet allegedly "smoke-free corridor" across the entie casino floor to get to the guest suite elevators. We were also carying a rather heavy infant car-seat. We went to the 23rd floor which was locked up tight and we called from a house phone to be told to return to the front desk to check in. So we had to backtrack the entir smoky way with our 7-month old infant in a heavy car-seat and then wait in line at the main desk. When we checked in, the clerk asked if we wanted the xcheck left open so we could charge things to the room. We said yes.

We ordered a turkey sandwich and botle of water from room service when we got to the room for a grand total of $41 dollars with tip. When we ordered, they said we weren't approved for room charges. So they transferred me to the front desk to clear it up. Then they transferred me back tot he room service people and they took the order. The waiter arrived and he said we had to pay cash since we were not approved. ?!?! What did we just go through then?!

The next day we requested a tea-kettle "hot-pot" to boil water. It took them 4 hours and three phone calls to deliver it.
We also had a minor spill on the bed duvet so we called housekeeping to have a replacement delivered. They took 6 hours and 4 phone calls to deliver it...even then it was because I caught a housekeeper in the hallway and she found us a new duvet.

KEEP IN MIND, this is a "concierge level" suite that is supposed to have the BEST service the Palazzo can offer. We were not impressed..the service was no better, and in fact probably worse, than a typical hotel!

All this being said, the rooms are spacious and nice, although as some people have commented, the A/C is quite loud. And for some unknown reason, ours apparently sucked air in from the kitchen vents since our room smelled like whatever meal they were cooking (eggs in the am, onions in the pm).

There are a lot of really nice (and expensive) restaurants in the Palazzo. The Grand Lux is one of the more reasonable and keeping with their cheesecak factory roots, has a huge menu. We didn't see any of the Palazzo shows, but the Blue Man group is there and everyone raved about the show. We saw Cirque De Soliel "Ka" at the MGM and it was a spectacular show.

There is a burger place across the beneath the Capital Grille that has great food at reasonable prices called "Stripburger".

One last thing, the entry and exit from the Palazzo is kind of out of the way and in one case a real pain because you have to go up and down several escalators just to get across the street...which puts you a full block past the Palazzo. Everyone usually goes back through the Venetian hallway to exit at their doors.

“The Palazzo got it right.....”

It is a matter of taste, but to me, the Palazzo accomplishes an elegance and intimacy that the Wynn, Venetian and Bellagio do not. Beautiful public areas and easily the most logical floorplan of the above resorts. You just feel at home there! Service was cordial and prompt and housekeeping was excellent. I had a room on the 37th floor with a view of the Wynn pools, golf course and mountains. The room was beautiful (the gold velour does work - adds warmth to the room) and so comfortable - looked exactly as the hotel website displays. I was in Vegas for a wedding which was held at the Bellagio and spent considerable time at the Wynn and Venetian. While they too are magnificent properties, I was ready to go back to the Palazzo. I have no idea what some of the reviewers were talking about re: civet smell. This hotel has the freshest environment and I noticed nothing unusual "in the air".

It also must have the most unique location - connected to the Venetian and Wynn and with the Mirage and TI across the street, you are very self contained. The casino was very crowded and the slots were no better or worse than other hotels, but as half the casino is smoke free, a much nicer environment than the others. Pools and spa were wonderful. Since the wedding had an agenda, the only restaurant I experienced was Grand Luxe Cafe and the food was great. I heard several people rave about Cut.

If you want over the top, this is not the hotel for you. If you want luxury and comfort in good taste as your home base, stay here!

“Loved my birthday at Palazzo”

Palazzo Hotel & Casino

This is an incredible hotel and casino. It is comparable to Wynn Las Vegas. The room is amazing, luxurious.. it is completely worth every penny. The casino is a bit bland looking, but I think it is meant to be understated to keep some of the "gimmick" look away from the property. I have stayed at both Wynn and Palazzo now, and I love the Wynn casino better than Palazzo, but I have to say that the Palazzo hotel rooms have the edge over Wynn. The good thing is both are connected by a short walk across a land bridge, so you can get the best of both worlds. The housekeeping staff was fantastic, however there are still some kinks that they need to work on with the other staff at the hotel, specifically staff at the front desk and some of the other areas within the casino. While not BAD, they just seemed indifferent to us. The slots are tight, but that seems to be the way Vegas is trending- gone are the higher-payouts of 5-10 years ago. Stick with tables and video poker- you will feel better at the end!!! Definitely recommend this hotel if you've never been- spend the extra $ and treat yourself!!

“The Amazing Palazzo Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas”

Palazzo Hotel & Casino

I stayed at the Palazzo for a convention meeting. I've attended many conferences nationwide and the Palazzo definitely ranks as the best experience! I stayed in one of the Luxury suite room. As soon as you open the door to the room, there is the immediate "wow" factor. The picture on the website does not do it any justice. The suite is meticulously decorated. The king size bed is amazingly spacious and comfortable. The 3 LCD television is such a luxurious experience. The room is well equipped with its own fax macine that allowed me to print out my boarding passes in my own room. The sitting area is amazing with its pull out bed (though we never used it). Your partner can work on the computer or watch one of the 3 TV without really interupting the late risers. The bathroom is incredible! With its closed-off toilet, there is a lot of room to get ready. The bathroom is spacious enough to accomodate a vanity table/chair. A separate shower with its glass enclosure and body jets really brings the luxury to high level. The most amazing thing is the remote control blinds. Once closed, the room is pitched black and extremely quiet. This room is really a great price at $270/night because it can easily and comfortably room 4 people. The attached shops have everything for everyone, including restaurants. Attached to the Venetian Casino and shops, there's something to do.

“Bad Experience at Palazzo”

Palazzo Hotel & Casino

We booked 2 nights at Palazzo in a luxury suite. The room was very large- had a king bed area, and then a few steps down, there was a living area. The bathroom was not as luxurious as we anticipated. The water did not drain properly in the shower. We were standing in water while showering. The shower head had no options (ie: no different sprays, no hand held). The mirror had missing parts. The light switch in the bathroom was broken. Having a separate room for the toilet was nice, but the light in there was very dim, and there was no trash can in there. In the living area, the sofa was very stained and the drawers in the desk did not close. The ventilation system was louder than we would have liked and the remotes for the 2 large flat screen TVs were exceedingly slow to go from one channel to the next. This was not what we expected from a billion dollar, less than 1 year old, luxury hotel. The morning after our first night, we brought these issues to the attention of the front desk. They offered to have maintenance look at the shower, or provide us with another room. We had no guarantee that another room's shower would drain any better (that was our major complaint), so we checked out after the first night. Maybe the bugs still have to be worked out. I would not recommend this hotel at this point in time. They do have a great restaurant- The Grand Lux Cafe.
