There are 3-4 basic things that I look for in a hotel. Location, room, service and amenities. This hotel is outstanding on all counts. I booked via the website. Remember this is not a hotel but condo apartments that are owned by 3rd party owners but managed by MGM. This is not a casino hotel but trust me you are better of staying here than at the main hotels at the strip.
Location: Great location. Just behind MGM it is connect to MGM via a walkway. it takes a few minutes to get to MGM and then inside MGM a few more minutes past all the restaurants to get to the casino. I preferred this as compared to other hotels which always looked extremely crowded. Every Vegas hotel will require you to walk to room through the casino. No such problem at Sig at there is no casino. You have best of both the worlds. I was walking thru other hotels, MGM, Venetian, Palazzo and between the hours of 4-8 PM there were literally 50 people waiting to check in, taking upto 1 hour. When I got to Sig, how many people were in queue. ZERO. Check in took all of 2 minutes.
Room: Really good. I was in a 1 BR suite. There was a full kitchen area, living room with sofas and a flat screen TV, a full bath. Then the bedroom also had a huge bathroom a really large king sized comfortable bed and another flat screen TV that comes out of the work desk. Pretty cool. I found the shower area a bit lacking as I was expecting a better shower but really does not matter. I am clutching at straws here :).
Service: Outstanding. I got to the hotel on a Saturday not knowing it was Madonna night and the hotel was almost full. I had paid a pretty high price, almost 300 for Sat night, must be due to this. When I got in I found out they had upgraded me to a 1 BR suite from a studio suite. My plans had changed and so for Sunday I had made a different reservation (sunday nite rate was 200). The lady at the front desk, Michelle, upgraded my for Sunday also. She is one of the smartest front desk staff I have met in almost any hotel in the US. Very helpful. They have a free valet service. I had rented a car from the airport and was going to return it to the Dollar location at MGM. I asked the valet about where it was, and he told me there was no reason I had to do it. They took care of it for me, I simply had to go to the concierge and sign a paper. Thats it.
Amenities: There are 3 Signature towers. I was in tower 2 which had a cafe. I believe tower 1 or 3 has starbucks. There is 24 hours in room dining and housekeeping. Free wireless (its included in the $20 resort fee that is mandatory per night. They have a pool and a really great gym at tower 3. The gym has brand new equipment and each one linked to a personal TV. Plus u can also use all the facilities at MGM.
Overall: Fantastic stay. For those of u who have been to Asia know that service in US hotels is far from satisfactory. But this hotel totally debunks that myth. The product is great and service is great. Its a bit pricey for Vegas standards, at about 200 a night, but its still not too bad a price. Whenever I come back to Vegas this is the only hotel I am going to stay at.
