My husband and I just returned from a 5 day stay at the Tower Suites of the Wynn Las Vegas. At the outset I will confess that I am not a "Las Vegas type of person"... My ideal vacation is a deserted beach in the Caribbean with fine dining in shorts (try St. Barts...) However, we were in desparate need of a getaway and booked the Wynn-- and I can only say I would go back again in a heart beat!
We stayed in the Tower Suites, which is the boutique hotel within the Wynn. Our friend stayed in the regular hotel rooms.. The Tower Suites has a separate check in, a private pool, and a separate restaurant (Tableau). However, as previous post mentioned, other than these differences, and a better quality toilletries, the rooms are pretty similar. The rooms and bathrooms are very large, for hotel standards. The bed,-- ahh.... the bed.... is the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever stayed in! Finally, the automatic shades, opening to views of Las Vegas, adds a layer of luxury that just makes you relax.
The personnel at the hotel are uniformly friendly and go out of their way to say hello,- whether you are walking in the casino, near one of the restaurants, or around the pool. We had the opportunity to visit many of the casinos (we rented a car-- very inexpensive and a great way to get around-- particularly when there is no charge for parking). The Wynn out shines all of the other casinos on and off the strip. It is cleaner, newer and just breathes elegance.
Finally, we ate at 2 of the hotels restaurants, Alex and Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare. They are definitely "splurge" experiences. We had the tasting menu at each. Despite the price tag, the food was excellent and, as foodies, was worth it to us. Each restaurant paid attention to the smallest detail and strove to make it a night to remember.
I can't recommend this hotel any more highly-- treat yourself and make a reservation to go!
