A few friends and I decided to do vegas for new years at the last minute. I logged on to expedia and was shocked to find a 3 bedroom 2 bath suite, only a few miles from the strip, available at the sonoran suites for only $131/night. Instantly I booked it! I was shocked to have found such a great deal... so I thought what is the catch here? I began to research about the property as much as I could, and found many reviews that talked about cochroaches, no service, dirty sheets, ect... needless to say I started to get worried. worried enough to called expedia and find out about a refund if this place turned out to be a dump! the expedia rep left me on hold for 40 minutes until I hung up. I can tell you that some of the things in these reviews turned out to be kind of true, for instance if you book this place they will contact you and ask you to get them a copy of an ID and a credit card, and sign a policy statement, but I am sure all hotels require that. you will have to fax or email this info to them as there are no onsite staff to check in with or help you with any problems. When they called me to give me the info on the property, i.e. gate codes, they told me an address different from the property on expedia, which I had read other people talk about this and how it was miserable. now I was really worried, and we kept no expectations. When we got to vegas we were shocked. this place was very nice. We all had our own bedroom and having two baths was a blessing. The kitchen was fully loaded and very convenient. the man that talked about the beds being two beds put together was telling the truth, but they were still comfortable and yes I am 6'3 just like him. The TV reviews are also true, very limited cable, but you can buy more channels if you like, this did not bother us as we did not come to vegas to watch tv. The people saying this place is a dump I honestly believe they are either just upset about something else, or they live in 20 million dollar homes. Because I do not see how anyone could truthfully say this place is a dump. It is also true that they ask you to clean up a little, or hire a maid service for $50, it took me 20 minutes to put the dishes in the dishwasher and pick up the trash. This is not a hotel it is a condo and the neighbors are not on vacation, which is a little weird, but you do have to be aware that they may have to work tomorrow. so people planning to after-party in the room keep it small or book something else, we managed to make it work till the sun came up. The one thing that is negative is that you have to take a cab or drive to the strip. a cab ride is $21, but when we added $40/day to the cost for the room it still is a great deal. this room on the strip would easily be $1000+ a night, and on new years probably 5 times that. All in all I would tell people to not be bothered by the negative reviews, and if you see a good deal here, book it as long as you do not mind the few quarks that come with being in a condo not a hotel. we would definitely reserve this again. I have included photos that we took when we arrived to brag to our friends.
