I stayed at the Westgate Flamingo Bay with my mom and a friend. I got the week at a great price, as a friend is an owner and couldn't use his week.
The property is gated, and I always felt very secure. Check-in was easy, but then you are directed to a 'concierge' desk where they try to sign you up for a timeshare presentation. (Side note: I did not do a presentation set up through Flamingo Bay. I did one set up through the Planet Hollywood on the strip and got better show tickets and dinner - which was a big jump from what Flamingo Bay was offering.)
We had a 1 bedroom (unit 2211, I believe), and the unit itself is nicely appointed. We had 3 people, 4 would be pushing it space wise (in my opinion). We discovered that night that you can hear everything between the units. Thanks to our noisy neighbors (they had a unit next to us and above us), we never got great sleep. This could also be attributed to the super loud air conditioner - I've never heard one so loud. Another problem was since we were located near the front of the resort, parking was a premium as it appeared that most of the front parking spots were taken by the sales staff.
The location of the timeshare was great in relation to the strip. Close enough to be involved, far enough away to get some peace. I also liked the convenience of being able to eat meals in our condo. (The staff was very helpful in pointing us in the direction of a grocery store, etc.)
I never used the strip shuttle, but my mom did and said it was fine. I also never used the pool, but my mom and friend enjoyed it.
With some minor changes, I think this could be a better property. I just would not stay there again unless it was at a great price like I got.
