This was an RCI trade. I had never stayed in Las Vegas before for vacation so I was not sure what to expect.
We checked in late Sunday evening and it went very smooth. We had rented a car and the valet was great. Cheap money for the week, about $40 and easy access. Also since HGVC at Flamingo is behind the Flamingo, street access is simple. You do not need to drive down the strip.
We were the first ones in a newly renovated 2 bedroom suite. 42" flat screen tvs in the living room and studio and a smaller flat screen on the wall of the master bedroom.
All upgraded granite counters. New furniture. Everything was great.
Both rooms had jacuzzi tubs and separate showers. The new shower heads had no pressure adjustments and stung when you used them. If they had a way of turning down the water pressure or using an adjustable head, I think it would have been better.
The only other thing that I would prefer they changed is the old 1970 hotel style heating and cooling. The temperature gauge went from cool to heat. Then there is the switch for low, medium and high fan and another switch for low, medium and off. I would prefer a thermostat with a temperature setting that allows the fan to turn off, but otherwise it functioned fine.
You have complete access to the Flamingo pool, but since we were there the end of September, the pool closed at 4pm because it is "OFF SEASON"...although it was 96 degrees out.. Strange....
HGVC also has their own pool next to the Flamingo pool. It is fenced off and only accessible to guests of HGVC. It is smaller with a hot tub, small bar for drinks and a nice pool. It is much quieter and open until 10pm. This was great.
The people at the HGVC were excellent. Always smiling, always saying hello and very helpful. Any issues we had were addressed almost immediately.
My brother in law was in a wheel chair and we were able to rent an electric scooter type chair in the lobby. The bellman, Jesus, helped us get a good discount off the original listed price and we appreciated his help.
There is a a deli that has good food and is reasonably priced.
Overall, I would stay there without question. The place, the people and the location is fantastic.
