“Great location, great city”

We bought a time share at the grand vacations club and I was very very impressed. Let me tell you one thing that may change your minds about this hotel. It does not have a casino, nightclub, or any of that jazz. The hotel is classy, with big rooms and a nice location. The hotel has a shared property with the Flamingo, so you are free to use their pool (incredible I may add), casino, and all of their features. The location is superb. The monorail is right outside your door, and although you are not "on" the strip, the flamingo is right next to caesar's palace, Bellagio, Bally's and many others. Great hotel great location, no complaints.

    • Liked — Much quieter because there wasn't a casino in the hotel, so it was much more relaxing and cozy
    • Disliked — Only two things, one the restaurant is really just a place to buy snacks ( go to flamingo or another hotel) and it is a long walk from the front of flamingo to the hotel, but not too bad.

“Thermastat Nighmare”

We stayed at the Flamingo Hilton fron April 27 through May 1, 2008. Check in process was excellent. We were given a room upgrade by booking on Expedia. The upgraded room were rooms above the 8th floor which were recently renovated. It was a gorgeous room with a large flat-screen HD TV, large walk-in shower, new bed and furnishings. The only MAJOR problem with the room was the thermastat. They were motion-generated thermostats, which means that the air-conditioner only came on when there was motion in the room. For instance, if you left the room and there was no motion, upon your return, your room temperature would go back up to 80. There was also no air conditioning when you were sleeping. It got so hot in our room at night, that I had to waive my hand in front of the scensor every ten minutes to activate it. When I called for maintenance, they told me that there was no way to turn off the scensor. If you do decide to go to the Flamingo Hilton, make sure you ask for one of the old rooms with the normal thermastats.

Good luck.

We stayed for a week during April 13 -19 2008. Check in process was excellent and after refusing a 2nd floor suite we were upgraded to 7th floor at no charge. One bedroom suite was just what we wanted and had a great view of the pool area's of HGVC and Flamigo. Access to Flamigo's pools was great. Non casino environment and distance from the strip was a plus at night. Proximity to strip was a plus during the day. Short walk through or around Flamingo and you were in the heart of the strip. Used the free parking just off the hotel and was not a problem at all and saved $8 per day on valet. There was always a space in garage reserved for HGVC guests. Hotel staff was just fabulous, and friendly. Deli in hotel was small but had great food and coffee (starbucks). Kept the coffee cup as refills were much less expensive. Rented a car and had easy access to the main roads in each direction. ie..30 min to Hoover, 4.5 hours to South rim, 35 min. to Red Rock Canyon...etc.. Did not use the monorail as it seemed quite pricey and walking the strip was very easy as long as you have good sneakers. Saw Spamalot and Ka and walked both ways to each show. Would recommend both but get twofers at Travelzoo or someplace else. Was at HGVC with two teenage boys and they both enjoyed the place also. Played tennis and enjoyed the pools on off travel days. I think they are closing around July 1 for renovations but we loved our room with the full kitchen, washer/dryer, BLENDER, etc.....would highly recommend this hotel for anyone...price was right also.

“Great place to stay”

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. We were very impressed from the moment we arrived by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We stayed in a one bedroom suit which we found very clean and furnished to a high standard. There was a large Jacuzzi, which we enjoyed after a long day of gambling. The kitchen had everything you needed. It is ideally situated behind the Flamingo which is located in centre of the strip. Grand Vacations is very peaceful and quite. There is a Deli on site which is basic but reasonable and also Valet parking with a charge of approx £16 per week, this is well worth doing.
We are seasoned visitors to Vegas and have stayed at several strip hotels and we both agreed this vacation was the best yet.
We hired a car for 8 days which I would recommend as it gives you the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of the strip now and again. There is so much to see that is not too far to drive, like the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and many more places. There are some very nice hotels that are worth visiting that are not on the strip, The Green Valley Ranch, South Coast, The Orleans. These hotels offer lots of activities other than gambling. Like multiplex Cinemas and bowling alleys. They are also less crowded and less Smokey. All restaurants in Las Vegas are now non smoking.
We are looking forward to returning and staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club again.

This is a wonderful place to stay at. This is just what i wanted. It had warm water to take a shower, comfortable bed, and close to everything. To me thats most important when your only spending 10 hours in it.
