“It was nice, but I would have at least expected the normal room items.”

Bally's Las Vegas

Our room was free through gambling “Comps”, which, for those that do not know, are various items that you can get for free by gambling at that casino. Although the room was free, I do have some minor issues surrounding the hotel that annoyed me.

Most of the hotel staff seemed friendly and willing to help, however there was several instances at one of the hotel restaurants where the wait staff were publicly arguing over issues that should have been done in private.

Concerning the room itself, there isn’t much to say except that it was very nice and enjoyable. We stayed on the 24th floor of the hotel, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We chose a room with a king size bed, and we felt the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and felt clean.

Our view of the city wasn’t good, but I can sort expect that with a free room. If I had paid for the room out of pocket, I would have been a little ticked off.

There was no small refrigerator or microwave and this really surprised me. These are items that have become to be expected within a room at most hotels. How else are you going to bring back and keep drinks and food to keep them cool?

You had to pay $3.00 a day for a usage fee for the safe in your room, which I felt was uncalled for within a hotel that caters to people with money and/or valuables.

They have glassware in the rooms instead of disposable ones. The reason that I have an issue with this is because most hotel glassware will never ever leave your room to make it to a downstairs dishwasher. A maid will typically wash these in your bathroom sink. If you have ever seen any news reports about how they are washed, you would not fully trust any room glassware at any hotel/motel.

The last item concerns transportation. At some hotels that I’ve stayed at, they offer free shuttle service back and forth from the airport, and I sort of expected to see this service being offered to guest within a tourist town. If the shuttle service was free, I don’t how it is done unless I missed something somewhere. Three of us took a $16.00 cab ride from the airport to the hotel, since we had heard the shuttle would cost about $20.00 per person, If this is true, then we saved over $40 dollars one way.

I would give the room about 4 stars out of 5, but because of the little issues that I mentioned, I would drop my rating down to 3 stars. Would I stay there again? I would say yes, but I would try to argue the safe fee issue, and I would ask for a room with at least a refrigerator if they are offered.

“Convenient!”

Very convenient since its along the strip. Our room got upgraded to a suite but hmm... the only thing that seems nice was its size, nothing fancy compared to other rooms.

I love staying on the strip, easy to go around for sightseeing, for tourists intending to go there, don't try staying off the strip!! It's a long walk!!!!

“very disapointed!”

Bally's Las Vegas

We were very disapointed with the conditions of the rooms. We had nine rooms booked together and we were scattered all over the hotel even different towers. I have never seen such dirty and stained carpets in my life. The windows were sooo dirty inside and out that we could not enjoy our great view. It was a very outdated. No coffee makers or fridge in rooms. Food was so-so.The moving sidewalk was broken. Front desk staff not friendly and moved way too slow , they need more training. The casino was ok. Over all not worth the money. Maybe the place should be imploded !!

“Nice Stay at Bally's”

Bally's Las Vegas

I just returned from a 4 night stay at Bally's for a conference. Las Vegas is not someplace I've ever had a strong desire to visit but I enjoyed my stay. Bally's seemed like a central location on the strip. I loved being able to go outside and see the Bellagio fouuntaines accross the street and I visited Paris a few times since it is conected via this really neat indoor 'sidewalk in Paris' with shops and restaurants. I walked to the Mirage for a show which was an easy distance. It seemed like it would be a good spot to explore more of the strip.

I was under the impression when I booked the stay through the conference block of rooms that I would be in one of the South Tower rooms. When I read the reviews of them and saw the pictures posted on this site I was pretty disappointed. I was very pleasantly surprised when I was given a North Tower King room on the 20th floor when I checked in. They are still your basic hotel fare but they are roomy, have comfortable loveseat size chairs and nice desks. The decor is very warm and the bathrooms are large with marble vanities. I do have to mention that the TV selection was a bit odd - the Weather Channel, CNN and one or two local channels were all I got except for several Japanese channels. Not that I was there to watch TV but it surprised me at any rate. I know the south tower rooms have nice views of the strip so I was surprised at the view from my room. I could see mountains on either side and some limited views of the strip.

I ordered room service a few times (a couple times were just for coffee) and the food and coffee were very good and they were quick enough. It never took more than 30 minutes or so. For some reason I didn't have a coffee pot in my room the first night but then I did for the next 3 nights. It worked well and made a decent cup of coffee.

The lines were long at times for check in and check out but that seemed to be the norm in Vegas. I would definitely stay there again. I really felt comfortable in my room and it was very quite every night.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — The comfort of the rooms and the fact that it was quiet at night in the room areas...very nice to come back to at the end of a busy day/night in Vegs!
    • Disliked — Can't think of anything except maybe the lack of TV channels on the room TV.

“Good for a quick stop...”

Stayed at Bally's last week passing through on a business trip. Having stayed there several times before, I knew what to expect but after this visit, I'm about done. Bally's is an old property - no denying that. The steakhouse is not very good, the spa is average at best and the rooms are really showing their age. Though Harrhas tried to dress up the bathrooms with some granite, the mattresses are either old or cheap, and the pillows are rock hard. Plus, I was put on the 7th floor right above Flamingo, and I never went to sleep because of the noise. Nothing to write home about here - plenty of options elsewhere.
