“Terrible Service”

Suncoast Hotel and Casino

I stayed at this hotel twice and while the rooms are excellent, the service is terrible. The first time we stayed there was my wedding night, we got married in vegas and we needed somewhere to stay before we left on our honeymoon. We went to the valet, and they left me standing in the middle of traffic in my wedding dress. No one ever came to pick up our bags. I had to carry my own to the room in my wedding dress.

The second time we stayed there, we were woken at 6 a.m. to construction right outside our window. When we complained, the front desk told me that I should have known that there was going to be construcion noises. He was so rude I am still upset six months later!

“Not a fan. Hope I never have to go back”

Suncoast Hotel and Casino

This is a "locals" hotel, and it shows. The whole hotel is very smoky and smelly. The food areas are low brow and not upscale at all. The casino is very very smoky and a lot of slot machines.

It is about $70 from the airport here in a cab.

The rooms are large and the bathrooms look like they have been remodeled recently. The hallways, even on the non-smoking floors, are smelly. The rooms oddly (and thankfully) are not.

I guess if you're staying here to escape your local family it would be fine but there is no way that I would ever stay here instead of staying somewhere on the strip.

“Away From The Strip”

Suncoast Hotel and Casino

4 of 5 stars
San Juan Capistrano, California

Set in a pleasant residential area of west Las Vegas, the Suncoast is a well-kept hotel/casino catering to frequent Las Vegas visitors who have tired of the endless traffic and construction noise of The Strip. (The Bellagio, for example, seems to be surrounded by sprouting high-rises topped by giant cranes.)

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with wall-to-wall, floor-
to-ceiling windows. Request the golf course side and you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the greens, as well as the small pool area of the hotel.

Though our room was beginning to show some signs of use (stains on sofa and chair), it was kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping staff.

The Suncoast also provides visitors with movie theatres and a bowling alley - but, disappointingly, no spa.

Parking is plentiful and the lot well lit. There is a shuttle bus to the Orleans and the Gold Coast. I'm not sure about the other Boyd properties.

The players cards are being updated to include all of the Boyd casinos which include the above as well as the California, Sam's Town and Main Street.

Though we qualified for the casino rate, this was still high compared to other Coast hotels. The Suncoast does have seasonal specials which are good value and worth signing up for their e-mails.

Across the street from the Suncoast is a brand new, low-rise, mega-
shopping center complete with upscale stores and restaurants. The Red Rock Casino is just a short drive away.

We can recommend the buffet, with a good selection of freshly prepared food. The breakfast buffet was provided with our room. The casino and hotel staff were pleasant and courteous. Beverage service was prompt.
We would recommend the Suncoast to those who have "done" the strip and are not afraid to drive around Las Vegas.

“Sunny at the Suncoast!”

Suncoast Hotel and Casino

Aug 24, 2008

Stayed two nights at The Suncoast as a friend and I were attending a party in the Summerlin area. Since it opened, we’ve always played at Red Rocks, but that hotel is way too expensive for our liking. By staying at the Coast, we’d be located near our friend’s house and also near our favorite casino. It is imperative to have a car when staying this far from the Strip, but we never miss the hustle, bustle, and traffic of the Strip, either, when staying in Summerlin.

The room at Suncoast was huge: king sized bed, sofa, flat screen tv, separate vanity area with two sinks, the bathroom had a shower/tub with lots of hot water, and w.c. The bed was comfortable enough, though the pillows were awful.

The maid came fairly early in the day, which is always nice. The room was spotless and the amenities were replenished on the second day.

Had no problem on the hotel end, but there was a major sabotage: My friend had booked a table for dinner on Saturday night in Primo’s months before our trip – we were to have her birthday dinner there. When she called the hotel on Wednesday to reconfirm her room and dinner reservation, she was informed that Primo’s was closed for renovations. It’s unconscionable that a restaurant would NOT call a customer to inform that person that the place would be closed. I managed to get a table at the wonderful Silverado in The South Pointe, but that should not have had to happen.

We did have great bagels at the Bagel Cafe Express. I’m Jewish and know a good bagel; trust me, the bagels are well worth it!

I would definitely stay here again, though I’d bring my own pillow!
