“Nice Staff”

I found the staff to be very friendly at the hotel. The pool is very small, however was adequate for a short stay with a child. Food was very expensive in the pool area and the waitress really seemed to focus on groups of people rather than if you were there alone or with just one other person. I believe the hotel was renovated within the last few years, however it is very tired looking already. I found housekeeping to be below standard. My daughter dropped some chips in the room and while we cleaned them up as best as we could, there were still crumbs. They were not vacuumed up for 2 days. We also didn't have any washcloths for 2 of the 3 days we were there and our room was typically not clean until after 5pm in the evening.

“Great spot just off the strip!”

What a great stay!
my wife and I are not big fans of the big strip hotels so this was a great find! attended a friends B-day party over the weekend and wanted to find something not too smokey or too big. This hotel has all non smoking rooms! you can only smoke in the casino area and bar. It is a small hotel and has a small casino, bar and a Starbucks in the lobby! the pool area was not crowded at all and had nice sun and no wind! the rooms are quite and comfortable. if there is one thing that was not the best was the lack of places to eat. but no big deal as the strip is only a 5 min walk.
This was a great 2 night stay and will stay there again! this would be a great business hotel if you needed to be close to the strip.

Not a 4 star. Nice and friendly staff. Decent rooms and VERY quiet. Very comfortable beds. Not bad for the money, just not great. Also they do try and nickel and dime you for a couple of $10 dollar fees.

“Comfortable, Sophisticated Business-Class Hotel a Few Blocks from the Strip”

The Westin is a great place to stay in Las Vegas if you want to have access to the craziness of the strip but also want to be able to retreat to a quiet, comfortable, serene hotel room.

The room furnishings were, as suggested above, serene and lovely, with a great view of the city. The restaurant hotel was fairly good --- featuring a French chef whose creations tended to look just a little better than they tasted -- in a attractive ambiance of muted colors. If you must gamble in your hotel, they do have a relatively small (for Vegas) gambling area in the lobby. They permit dogs, with a fee, and it is easy to walk your dog on the hotel grounds and in the area (they have a small dog run -- really small -- near the parking area). The heart of the strip is just a short walk away -- so, for example, you can walk to see the Cirque de Soleil show at the Venetian and not have to worry about parking.

When the noise and lights of the strip overload you, it's nice to be able to return to the relative quiet of the Westin. The spa treatments were sufficiently expensive, however, that I did not try them.

“Pretty pictures, nasty property”

The Westin Casuarina Hotel & Spa

I spent one night at this hotel which was one night too many. Def not a 4 star property. I relied on the Starwood name expecting above par customer service, friendly staff and a comfortable care-free stay. Nothing of the sort. The staff was bland and sometimes nowhere to be found. The Concierge phone was never answered. At one point I went down to the desk after being tossed into voicemail. The woman at the concierge desk was busy chatting up one of the other employees. Only when i interrupted them did she speak to me. The rooms are small and definately not up to a 4 star standard - MAYBE 3 stars, but that's pushing it. the Heavenly Shower was nothing more than two shower heads on one pipe. Frankly, the lower of the two is useless and can be painful depending on the temp and pressure of the water. The halls were cramped and closed-in. The valets were helpful but certainly ready for their tips. The lounge bar and casino were OK, but lacked any sort of personality except for the bartender on duty. She was great! I quickly dropped my luggage and left to meet up with friends staying at other hotels. I really regret booking this through priceline. I paid $140 plus taxes for what i consider to be a $70.00/night property AT BEST. Don't bother staying here or booking through priceline in Vegas!
