“Great Place to stay!!!!”

Ramada Inn Saint Peters

Apr 20, 2008

We loved this hotel!!! The management staff was great. Everyone there was super friendly. Me and my wife stayed in quite a few hotels in this area recently and none of them really come close to being as nice as this place. Very clean, no bad smell like a lot of places in the area. Looks to me as if it was recently remodeled.
If you are going through the area I would say this is really the only option.

“Basic, roadside hotel”

Because I had a meeting in O'Fallon, I had two choices: The Super 8 or the Ramada. I selected the Ramada based on the photos on AMEX's web site. It looked slightly better than the Super 8.

It is located right off the freeway in St. Peter, MO. It is the only hotel at that exit. I arrived pretty late at night and was surprised that even though there are a few fast-food restaurants on that same road (there's a Hardee's directly next door to the hotel), apparently all but the McDonald's close at 10 p.m. If you're driving to that area, stop somewhere along the way or you'll go to bed hungry.

The hotel is a fairly basic, roadside hotel. It looks like it might have been redecorated in the past couple of years, but with a limited budget. The woman who checked me in was nice enough.

There is no elevator in the hotel. I was a bit surprised when she directed me to the stairs around the corner from the front desk. There is a tiny 2-3 table breakfast area and a small sitting area in the lobby.

The room is fairly large, with the bath area right as you open the door, then the bed, and finally a couch and table. I'll be honest, when I first opened the door, my heart sank. I was tired and hungry and the first impression was not good. The carpet has definitely seen better days and it was pretty dark in the room, even after flipping all the switches I could find. There is a small sink area outside the bathroom and the bathroom itself is really small, just a toilet and tub. No counterspace, except in the outside sink area.

However, the bed was comfortable and it seemed like the sheets were clean. After I woke up the next morning, I was less critical. The bathtub has a faux granite surround, the tub seemed clean, there's even a ceiling fan and while the carpet is still dingy, I was not as disappointed as I was the night before. I believe that they provide internet service as well, but I got in too late and left too early to do anything with it.

Check out was provided by a friendly young woman. There was a small continental breakfast in the lobby as well. It is obviously a family-run hotel and it seems as if they at least try to run a clean hotel. While I'm not sure that I would be back in the area any time soon, I might consider this hotel again for one night.

“Dont Stay Here”

I booked a room at this hotel and reserved a crib a week before my stay. I even called to make sure my room had a crib and was told the crib would be in the room when I arrived. When I arrived there was no crib in the room and the room was freezing and the heat did not work. I went to the front desk to ask about the crib and was told they did not have one. The person and the front desk said we would get a discount but when we checked out they would not give us one. My 4 week old daughter slept in a dresser drawer. I will never stay in another Ramada hotel again.

Management Response

We are so sorry about this inconvenience and worked very hard to do everything we could to make their stay enjoyable. The crib request was done through central reservations and for some reason did not come through to system. This usually does not happen and we apologise for the mistake. We also do not think she called the hotel directly, but rather the national 1-800 number to confirm the crib request, because we knew both cribs were reserved at the time of their stay.

The heat in their room was not working and we switched them to another room as soon as this was brought to our attention.

Once again we worked very diligently to make their stay a success, but unfortunately they were there the first time we have ever rented out both cribs and there was nothing we could do.

“Would stay here again...”

My husband and I stayed here for our 10th anniversary in February 2007. We reserved a jacuzzi suite for $100/night. (VERY reasonable!) The room was large with a King bed and a jacuzzi tub in the room (not in the bathroom like many are). Before we arrived we were a little concerned that the jacuzzi would be a "tight" 2-person, but it was huge! It appeared to accomodate 3 people. The hotel and rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The continental breakfast included toaster waffles, donuts, bagels, apples, coffee, juice. Not huge, but nice enough. Overall we enjoyed our stay!
