We were just travellers passing through Worthington. It was late at night when we came across a Super8 bill board. Knowing Super 8 standards we thought this would be a good choice. The easy access also made it our choice. We soon found out how horrible of a choice we had made. Our room had black mold on the bathroom ceiling and above the room's heating unit! The heat must have been turned off our room for some time because the room was like walking into a freezer. So we fired up the heating unit which was so noisy you could not run it AND sleep. The owners are renovating (still) so I guess that is why they just painted over the mold on the wall above the heating unit! There was a coffee machine in the room but no carafe'. We booked into this room late at night so moving really was not an option, but for all the sleep we had we may as well have slept in our vehicle! There was just a sign on the front desk when we checked out at 7:00 a.m. After reading other reviews, now I know why! I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!!!

We had a construction project in Worthington and decided to stay at the Super 8. We have stayed in many Super 8s all over before and this by far was the absolute WORST!!! Nevermind the broken windows on some of the hotel rooms, the screens on the unbroken windows with giant holes, the stained up towels and sheets, the improperly dyed carpet that left your white socks burgandy on the bottoms!
I booked rooms there for myself and crew specifying that I would need two double queen rooms both with a refrigerator and microwave. Upon arriving we got none of which was requested - we finally settled for one room with a king and the other a double queen with the reassurance that we would be receiving a fridge and microwave in each the following morning. Wrong again! After arguing and threatening to pull our reservations with the manager we finally got a fridge in each room and one microwave to share. The bathroom in the room with the king bed was filthy and full of shaving clippings, the toilets took two to four flushes just to flush toilet paper (so don't take a number 2 there you might be flushing for a while) Be prepared to be waken up by housekeeping at 7am WITHOUT them announcing themselves! Oh and if you stay more than a day bring your own shampoo and god help you if you forget yours because once you use up the complimentary one you are not given anymore and even if you ask the front desk - they will tell you that you must wait for housekeeping the following morning and that includes towels, blankets and extra pillows!! And housekeeping won't leave it unless you demand it and wait and watch them put it in your bathroom. The place is run by a family that lives at the hotel so don't tell me I need to wait for housekeeping because the same people that run the front desk at times are the same people on housekeeping! Also you have to wait in line to use the complimentary computer in the lobby if one of the family members that run the place are on it! Also be prepared to hear their screaming children running up and down the hallways throughout the day! Finally checking out - there was no one at the desk to check out with and after waiting 15 minutes we finally left the room keys on the desk with a note attached! If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Worthington, MN drive past the Super 8 and head for the Budget Inn! Other people that were on the same job site highly recommended it!

We just returned from a wonderful vacation. The only down side was the Super 8 in Worthington, MN. We had booked it through AARP/Travelocity. We booked one room with 2 queen beds. We checked in and discovered a single king bed. When I returned to the office we were told that this hotel did not have any queen beds. The owner went on to tell us that he was not responsible for false advertising on the internet and it was not his problem. FINALLY, he did give us a room with 2 full-size beds. We went to retrieve our luggage from the king size room and found we had been locked out of it. I had to go to the front desk again. We got into the new room. The smell was horrible! I went to walmart and got some Lysol and some air deoderizer. The hallways were dirty, the 1st floor was being remodeled, and it was impassable. You had to walk up to the second floor to get from one end to the other.
Breakfast.... the owners have a dog that has free run of the hotel, including the breakfast room. He was always jumping, begging for food and shaking as though he had fleas. Needless to say, I didn't eat.
The employees at the hotel were very nice, however, the owner was rude. When he told me that he wasn't responsible for false advertising on the internet I told him that I would let others on the net know. He told me to go ahead, he didn't want internet business at his hotel.
So, be warned when considering a night here.

We arrived at the Worthington Super 8 on a freezing day in Feburary. We were truly impressed with the motel's hospitality. From the front desk clerks to the housekeeping ladies and maintenance guy, they all made you feel welcome and at home. The room was clean, spacious, and WARM! We will be staying there the next time we visit my husbands family in Worthington.
