Overall, our stay at Floridays was a good one. Planning a trip to Disney can be a very overwhelming experiences so I am taking time to submit this Review in hopes of sparing other future Disney travelers.We had a few surprises during our trip that are certainly worthy of mentioning so I've outlined them below.

The Room:
The condo looked exactly like it did on the Floridays website. There were a few notables- Nicks/scratches in the coffee table and the metal coating on the bathroom sink plug was badly peeled. We had 2 small children in our party so these were minor eyesores in the grand scheme of things and not really worthy of mentioning. The furniture and carpet were very clean and I felt comfortable enough to take my shoes off w/o donning slippers :-)

The accomodations:
The front desk attendant was very pleasant upon check-in, although we discovered later that he should've given us a shuttle bus schedule. The morning after our first night there, I called downstairs to inquire about shuttle times to SeaWorld and discovered they were book for the day and that you have to reserve seats 24 hours in advance. So I proceeded to reserve seats for the next few days out and was told that there were only seats left on the shuttle going to Epcot a few days later but no seats on the shuttle going to Magic Kingdom the following day. This was annoying b/c we called prior to our trip to inquire about shuttle service and were never told that there was limited shuttle service to/from the theme parks. We based our decision to not rent a car on the information we were provided. Who knew that they only provided shuttle service to a limited number of people each day. We ended up catching a taxi to SeaWorld which is only a 3 or 4 miles from the hotel and it cost us $25. We ended up catching the I-trolley back that evening for $1 each. It cost us $50 one way to Magic Kingdom and we discovered that it is a common practice for the taxi drivers to give you bad information, manipulate their meter and to pass extra fees your way. For instance, the cab driver was charged the standard $12 parking fee at Magic Kingdom (although he only dropped us off) and he passed this fee onto us. We were told that only taxi companies affiliated w/ Disney get to avoid the parking fee :-(.

In hindsight, we would have opted to rent a car instead of relying on taxis to get around. Publix supermarket was w/i walking distance of the hotel (for the most part); however, there was no sidewalk and it felt awkward to walk the unpaved trail w/ grocery bags. My hubby took a taxi back to the hotel for $4 during his second trip to the supermarket.

We stayed in building B which is next to the pool w/ a view of the lake. The property was clean, our fellow guests seemed friendly enough and we never heard a lot of noise. The pool was nice and never too crowded. We would certainly visit this hotel again and would recommend it to other families.

My only suggestion- Rent a car!

I agree with one of the previous reviewers. Don't let housekeeping in your room while you are out. We are very security aware and always lock our belonging away. We were delighted to have a safe in the room
...however one morning my daughter left her ring on the side of the sink. We left the room only to discover 10 mins later she had not put her ring back on. Unfortunaltely we didn't return untill late that night to discover the ring was gone. We called housekeeping and had to leave a voice mail..Nobody called me back and I had to call again the next morning. Eventually we discovered the only other person that entered the room that day was housekeeping. We were told by staff they trusted this person and could they at least offer us breakfast to make up for our upset.....We reported the missing ring to the police. They were very prompt in coming to the hotel. Be aware and lock up everything.

The resort was close to what we needed but starting to show alot of wear and tear for a new resort. Our washing machine kept cutting out the electrictiy. Not the cleanest place I have ever been.

This was the second time we stayed at this resort. The first time was in Oct 07. Both times we used it as our home base for Disney. Once we stayed in a 3 bedroom unit and the second time in a 2 bedroom. It was a very convenient location. It was a ten minute drive to the park and we had purchased the AAA diamond pass so we could park closer. The grocery store is 2 minutes away as well as a small shopping plaza. It's not fancy but it has a nice pool with a splash area for the children. It was comfortable and since we were only there in the evenings it was a good price and close to Sea World and Disney.

We spent a week at Floridays and the condos were very nice. We felt very comfortable in the 3 bedroom condo but the overall service was not very good. We had to call the front desk frequently in order to get towels and it took on average 2 to 3 calls to get someone to show up. There is a lot of construction around the resort which makes it a bit unappealing when you first arrive. Overall we enjoyed the pools and the rooms were very nice. Don't expect good service as it appears the resort is very understaffed.
