we stayed for 4 days with our dog. the room was excellent. hotel and property was super clean. about 30 minutes from south beach via toll road. you need a car to fully enjoy staying in miami anyway. great value for dog owners.

Arrive at MIA between 11pm and 7am and you will need at taxi $10, as the shuttle bus does not run between these hours. So arrive late and leave early you can add $20 to your La Quinta room rate.
If you are on a fixed budget I would shop around, unless all hotels in this bracket are poor.
Hotel appeared tired and there was an unpleasant odour throughout. The staff on the late shift gave the impression of being extremely unhappy with their employment and their employers, to the point that I did wonder why they worked there at all.
The breakfast was acceptable to a hungry person.
The fire alarm went off all night, which I hope was not the norm, but might reflect on maintenance.
On the plus side, I received an apology at check out and my room rate was reduced, which I was happy to pay, just to leave.
If asked I would avoid La Quinta in future.

Stayed at La Quinta Airport West. I am a member of the La Quinta Returns program, and so stay at La Quinta's every few months. Hotel is clean with a nice pool, and decent breakfast.

However, my stay was spoiled by having to wait a hour at the airport for a shuttle pickup. My flight landed at 10 pm, and I called the hotel for an airport pickup. However, no one answered the phone, no matter how long I let it ring. Finally, at 10:30pm, someone answered from the front desk, and told me the shuttle would be at the airport in 7 minutes. 25 minutes later, after several more calls, the shuttle turned up. Checking in, the front desk staff were slow and surly. And finally, everything near by for food were all shut by the time I got there. This hotel is pretty remote from anything- do not stay here unless you get a car.

This hotel near Miami International Airport is a nice place. The room was nice and spacious, with a large bathroom. The swimming pool was clean and well heated, as well as having a nice large jacuzzi. The grounds were also nicely landscaped. It is near a number of decent chain restaurants and has easy access to freeways although it is off the main drag. We had to leave before the breakfast was served tto catch an early flight.

Our only complaint with the hotel was the fact that there was no business center, with Internet access, which seemed odd considering it was near the airport. We just wanted to use the internet for advanced check-in at the airport. We were told by the girl at the desk that we would need to look off-site for internet access, to which she gave us directions to a gas station, which had no access. We went back to the hotel, and the young man behind the desk, offered us the use of his computer, to check in. Now that's customer service!

We would probably stay there agian if in the area.
