We have been staying 3 nights at the Trump Sonesta. We felt completely ripped-off! At a hotel in this category, service should be self-evident. At the Sonesta, it is just a trick to wheedle you out of money. An example: getting your car parked will cost you a scandalous $24. It will cost you an additional $2 tip to get your car back. If you don't tip, nobody will be friendly, nobody will help you.
For tourists wanting to visit the city, the location is a nightmare. It often took us more than an hour to go to south beach, f.e.! We (and even our young children) felt totally deveived.

Trump International is a very nice resort that ticks a lot of boxes.
Negatives:
Very expensive Internet access
18% Gratuity charge on everything, regardless of quality.
Slightly hard to cross the main road outside.
Valet was good but expensive at $24 per day

Positives:
Helpful, friendly staff throughout the hotel.
Great resort including lovely pool area and beach with easy access, free towels and umbrellas.
Nice food in on-site restaurant, including room service.
Big rooms and good facilities. Great bathrooms. Includes microwave and sink (bring own utensils however, inc bowls.)
Very relaxed bar with friendly service and quality entertainment.

Publix supermarket is just up the road as well as a small shopping area opposite. Aventura Mall is only over the bridge and is well worth a visit if the sales are on! It is a very long drive to South Beach. (Both can be visited by using the Hotels free bus). Italian next door is friendly but I wouldn't rush there.
Use Expedia to get very good discounts but once you're there it may possibly be worth thinking about saving a bit of money unless your bonus was off the radar...enjoy. If you are struggling to know where to go in Florida for a family break I would not really reccomend this area. We drove over to Marco Island which was excellent if you get a hotel or Condo on the beach.

Me and my boyfriend loved this hotel. Just got back from 2 weeks in the States, and we spent 4 nights in Miami at the Trump hotel. Check-in was smooth, room was fantastic, and staff very friendly. Best stocked mini-bar I've seen. Great beds, brilliant views from the 22nd floor.
Pools were beautiful. We sunbathed by the lower pool which had less kids. Beach was long and white sand with towels and beds supplied.
Breakfast was incredible. Even better that it was free. There was everything you could ask for and the waiters bring round fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee constantly.
We had a car and the only choice was to have valet parking which cost $25 a day, but of course you have to tip the men everytime you want your car which gets a bit annoying as we'd rather just park it ourselves. But that's what you get with 5*!!

Health spa looked great.

Location was brilliant. Very near the Aventura mall which was my idea of heaven! Bal Harbour shopping was also very near but they are all designer shops so make sure you have a 6 digit salary before even entering!
It was a 20min drive to South beach so if you want to be nearer, stay at one of the hotels there, as a cab there would cost you around $45

I just loved this hotel but staying at a 5* costs more than what you originally pay, so watch out.

Would stay here again.

My three girlfriends and I stayed here for 4 nights and were sorry to leave. This gorgeous hotel certainly lived up to our expectations of Trump luxury. Pool and beach were to die for....not that we were able to use these much theres so much to do in Miami we didnt want to waste time sunbathing. Free shuttle to all main places was great - if you get time make sure you ride the Thriller Speedboat from Bayside - its fab. All in all a brilliant stay. We left to travel to Las Vegas and the Bellagio lived up to all our dreams too. Will definitely return to both beautiful hotels.
