We were visiting Miami on March 28th and 29th. All reputable hotels under $320pn were booked so we took a gamble on the Blue as they offered a reasonable rate due to their 'soft' opening.
I need to point out the following before I write my review. The hotel is not officially open yet so there is no fancy reception, hustle and bustle or shuttle bus. The restaurant and gym facilities are not open yet either so I cannot review them.
A taxi ride from the airport is about $25 each way. Most drivers don't know the blue so write down the address.
The reception is based at a temporary location by the main gate. The apartments are quite close to a large street and not set back into the resort like the Marriott next door. We were starting to get a little anxious about how the room would be... to our surprise, I have to say that this is one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in!
Once you get inside your room you forget about the disappointing frontal view as the balcony overlooks the golf course. Gorgeous! The room itself was inspiring. The bathroom had twin sinks, jacuzzi bathtub, television and a separate shower. There was also a kitchenette and a living/dining area. The main television was huge and the digital appliances were an added bonus. The most important thing was the bed. We had two nights of blissful sleep as the bed was extremely comfortable.
Once this hotel is fully open, visitors will have a pleasant experience here if using it as a base and all you want is a room. Unfortunately for us we had a few problems with check out (software payment issues) which took 25 minutes to resolve. This would not put us off coming here again.
