We stayed at this property on the final night of our cruise vacation. We arrived at 9:00 a.m. after getting off the ship hoping to at least be able to stow our luggage and hang out at the pool while awaiting to check in. We were shocked to find out a room was ready for us! We proceeded to our villa and were totally amazed at the size, layout, and view from our villa. We were in building 5 on the 5th floor overlooking the White course. I get goosebumps thinking about it. While the family napped, I got the laundry started in our in room washer and dryer and proceeded to the front desk to inquire about a golf cart to go see the courses. The front desk manager, Andrew, volunteered to take me on a tour. We went on a 30 minute tour of the White course and over to the Blue Monster course. I was in golf lovers heaven! Later, we got another golf cart ride over to the "Blue Lagoon" spa pool area at the Doral for an afternoon in the pool. My children were amazed and had the time of their lives. The bartender, Jose, at the Bungalous poolside bar makes amazing margaritas! He was so nice too, comping some ice cream to our children when they had to wait a few minutes while he tended to his bar customers. Overall, we have never experienced such a phenomenal property. Our only suggestion, stop at a market and pick up some groceries if you do not have access to a car. You have a full kitchen and dining room to host meals in your villa. The dining establishments at the Doral are very expensive, and expect to drop $60.00 plus for lunch for a family of 4. Dinner would easily be twice that. We are hoping to take some extended family for a 2-3 night stay for some golf in the future. Check Expedia for amazing rates. We stayed for $179.00, but the villas can be as much as $500.00. Book early and get a great rate.
