We stayed at this elegant and comfortable place for two nights in May. Although it is located on the busy Truman Ave (Highway 1), we hardly heard any traffic noise or even a rooster sound (you can see roosters roaming all over the places on the island). The room we stayed is called Cohiba which is not attached to any other guest rooms. The room was spotless, nicely decorated and small. After our three carry-on size travel bags were situated either on the floor or chairs, basically there was no place for us to sit except the bed. And the bathroom was very small as well, there was a tiny place near the sink just enough for placing toothbrush kit, towels could be only hung on the bathroom door. Anyhow, the space issue didn’t bother us much since we didn’t spend much time inside the room. I loved Azul’s breakfast which serves very fresh bread, fruit, and yogurt.
Dominic is a very nice guy who gave us a quick guide to great places to eat and fun things to do, which was very helpful. You can walk to most of the attractions from Azul. It was about 5-10 minutes walk to the Hemingway house and the Duval Street which is the main street on the island, about 25 minutes walk to the Truman Little White House, 30 minutes to the water front, and the Mallory square where you can watch the Sunset Celebration everyday. There are a lot of restaurants and bars on the island. The ones we liked most during our short stay were Alonzo's Oyster House, the conch republic and the Sloppy Joe's Bar.
