The room had an outstanding view of the marina and was perfectly located to both the marina and the action on Duval - not too close, not too far - just right! The rooms are large and comfortable. A sure thing!

This hotel/resort is unsanitary at the least. Dark dingy. We could not even stay even though we lost our money. Dirt and grunge was so thick it was disgusting. The units are time shares and rented out only to make money. They are not taken care of at all. The cabinets were cracked and coming off the wall. Black stuff ran from the cracks in the shower when the water was running.

To make matters worse we found out after returning home that the pictures of the room on the web were photoshopped obviously to make it look more spacious.

DO NOT STAY HERE NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had stayed in a one bedroom unit timeshare booked through RCi in the past and had no issues. We then booked a "hotel unit" for another stay in July. It could not hold a candle to the first unit. Small is an understatement, dark and outdated. However, it was fairly clean, and the location was excellent. We decided to book again for a trip in August. We booked another "hotel room" through RCI. Early in the week, the appliances in surrounding units were being removed and placed in the hallways. On Tuesday of our stay, tile work began...and the noise that accompanies such work. When we walked out of our room, the tile saw was against the door of our unit. Saws, bags of concrete, and other misc. construction supplies filled the hallway between our room and the stairwell. On Wednesday, we awoke at 8 am to the same construction noise. I tripped over leering workers as I left the room.
Management was not willing to move us. Finally, they said they would move us two floors lower, however, the gentleman behind me was on that floor, and he was not only dealing with the noise but an infestation of ants. Upon returning to the room after the disappointing and aggravating conversation, we found the tile workers in our room!!!! They breached the door between the two units to work on the lip between the door!!! That was the final straw. We once again asked to be moved and were told we couldn't be because the resort would have to reimburse the owners of other units.
We were told if we didn't like it, we could leave. (What happened to good ol' customer service??)
So we did. We called a cab, packed our bags, and ended up at the Southernmost on Duval St. It was fabulous!!!!

We didn't believe the poor reviews on the Galleon and decided to go there since it has a beautiful view on the water. We have stayed in many resorts all over the US and we know what we can expect for the price. The Galleon is NOT WORTH IT. They are nickle and dime condominium owners that rent out the apartments for a quick return on their investment, the furniture and beds are the original ones from the sixties and I mean that literally. The employees/service staff are rude- disgrunteled people. Our bed smelled, we removed the sheet cover and saw old sweat stains encrusted into the mattress, the pillows where the same.There was mold in the bathroom we reported this and nothing was done so we had to clean it ourselfs since they refused to move us to another room because the condo owner had already collected the money. The management did not care to hear our complaint, they appear callous and not surprised. The place is truly a Galleon. PS: Not to our surprise...there was a dead roach in the closet.
