“Terrible”

We were suppose to stay for three days..we checked in and out the following day. We checked in at 4p and found out the lazy river, water slide and kid area little squirts were closed every day from 5p to 9a..whats up with that....Also you can only exchange a wet towel once in a day..were at a water park their going to get wet. The room smelled like mustard and was not nice...just tacky, but one nice thing was it had a washer and dryer. Well, after being completely disappointed my wife just wanted a creme soda from the little store...and guess what? no creme soda just over priced things people may have forgot...good luck

“50 - 50”

Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort

Sep 29, 2008

The studio room was definitely small, there was a microwave, fridge and kitchenware, but no range. It seemed smaller than a hotel room. You can walk from the door to the king bed in about 4 - 5 steps. From the door to the end of the room (which is the closet) in about 9 steps max. From the bed to the sink in 2 steps. The bathroom was roomier. We went with our kids, 8 & 10. They had the sofa bed, and it was a pain to put away every day. When the sofa bed was pulled out, there was hardly any room to walk through. Did not like the window facing the walkway, and no other windows. There were 2 TVs but since the room was so small, you can hardly watch both TVs at the same time because of the volume of each TV competing with each other. If you wanted fresh towels, you needed to go to a specific area and exchange your towels. You can only do this once a day.

The pool was also average, there was one waterslide and a lazy river. The beach was nice and quiet, but from the main building you have to take a shuttle to get to the beach and then from the point the shuttle drops you off, you still had to walk about a 2 mins. to get to the beach. There were no signs to the beach, you get dropped off in front of a building and it's up to you to figure out how to get to the beach.

We went there and got it for very cheap, but if I had to pay full price for this resort, I would not go back.

Dear SimplyaTraveler,

Thank you for your response. I invite you to try our one or two bedroom villas during your next stay as these have up to 1,250 square feet of living space for your family. I am sorry you missed the beach directional sign located at the Ocean Front Building drop off area.

“kids had a blast”

we got our room thru dreaded time share sales pitch. which i will say was worth it we got a beautiful 2 bdrm pool view room. reg room rates are over the top 395.00 per night, so needless to say i wont be going back unless they have a special. sale lady was ok but second one who needs a lesson in manners was the one who sealed the fate and made it so very easy to tell him NO DEAL !!! he was insulting ,made terribly rude comments about personal issues and for those comments he spouted out of his mouth without remorse we walked without purchasing a unit which we really wanted. there loss not mine.
kids had a great time but i think younger ones probably benefit more from activities - food was ok from restaurant

“Beware of the CAVE (studio unit)”

Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort

I really wanted to love this place but I would never go back. With all of the beautiful towns and resorts in the world - this isn't someplace I would want to waste a week of vacation on. To start - DO NOT stay in a studio unit. It is a cave! I called every single day to try to upgrade my room but was nicely told that there was no availability. The studio/hotel units are just awful. They are tiny! I have shared a hotel room with my kids before (11 and 8) but this was ridiculous. The only window in the place faced the central hall that everyone on the floor has to walk past so there is no privacy. We had to keep the shades closed most of the time because of this which made it feel like we were living in a dark cave. There is a small kitchenette area where we had hoped to prepare simple breakfasts and lunch but there is no table to sit at! Who wants to sit in a dark closet eating cereal and sandwiches on their bed. The kids slept on a pull -out sofa which was so uncomfortable that even they complained - you could feel every spring! Our mattress wasn't much better and we all had neck and backaches by the last few days. It was clean though and all of the staff was very pleasant.

The rest of the resort was nice enough - the pool was fine and the kids play area, arcade and movie room were nice. The beach is very nice but you have to take a shuttle to get there. Another problem I had was that you had to rent a beach chair and umbrella to sit at the beach! I have been to many beach resorts and I have NEVER had to pay for this. Not to mention that the guy who rents them wasn't even around half of the week to rent if we had wanted to spend 25.00 extra per day. Rip off!

The Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach area is not Florida at its best. It is ugly strip malls and run down beach shops. Besides the beach itself, this area has nothing else going for it except for the Kennedy Space Center which we loved.

Do yourself a favor and find a prettier, part of Florida to stay in where you don't have to pay for beach chairs or sleep in a cave.

“An incredible time! Just what we needed!”

My sister gave us a week here (she owns a timeshare) for our 10th anniversary. I read over the reviews and thought, "Well, at least it's a gift ... it's the thought that counts."

But WOW were we impressed! We had a studio room with a king bed, couch, HDTV, a shower and hot tub. There was a sink, fridge, microwave, and dishes! Good family atmosphere. Enjoyed the pool, the waterslide, the movies, the food. The concierge service and all the workers there were very friendly and helpful.

Some reviewers complained about the tram to the beach. Good grief, the tram took 60 seconds to ride. I live in Kentucky, not a lot of oceanfront property here! So a 60 second tram ride was worth the nice quite beach where my wife and I could sit, relax, read, and have a conversation.

If there was one thing I would change, it would be the thickness of the walls. We stayed next door to folks who had three children. We have four kids ourselves, so we were used to it and didn't mind it (you can't expect kids to act like adults). But if you aren't used to children, it might bug you. But for me, if the atmosphere and set-up were good enough for children, it's good enough for me.
