There is a little bit of irony in that this place caters to the gambling crowd. Staying here is a gamble in itself. The quality of the experience at any given hour is very dependent upon who happens to be on duty.
Don't be fooled if there happens to be a thermostat on the wall that you think might control the heat. It's just there to confuse you.
Jeff should not be working in hospitality. His response to a request for extra pillow and blanket was "that's going to be a problem". The real problem looked like we seemed to be interrupting some side business that was going on with him and his friend. When we suggested that he could simply get them from a vacant room he said he would take care of it as soon as he could. We also asked him to bring a phone that worked.
We lay awake until half past midnight then finally fell asleep figuring he wasn't coming.
The next day, Babette and Kenny showed us how to turn the heat on, got us extra blanket and pillows, and fixed the telephone. So all was good until.....That night we realized that we were almost out of toilet paper and tried to get some more. Unfortunately Jeff was on again and apparently that was a problem too, so we had to wait until morning. Since we now had a phone that worked, we tried to call him but he just hung up on us after we told him what room we were in.
The room was pretty nice outside of the fact that the refrigerator didn't work right, the microwave mysteriously turned itself on and off, half the chain lock was missing and the door didn't latch right to begin with so you had to really slam it, and there was a hole the size of a fist in the bathroom door, which all really fired up our imaginations. Outside of someone's leftovers in the refrigerator, the room seemed pretty clean, and we're very particular about that. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was adequate. Lynn was very nice also.
