My husband and I opted for a Saturday night here in early May instead of farther down the road at Mystic since the casino hotels were full. We reserved a Luxury Suite, which turned out to be a cheaply paneled 1/6th of a hexagonal building -- or maybe it's round? It was so dark and every other outside light was burnt out, so we couldn't tell. It was early May but too cool outside for the famed cocktail party, so we ate at Two Trees Grill at Foxwoods and had a wonderful meal. Now, the room: thin walls/ceiling. Nobody next door, but above us a bunch of young guys were obviously celebrating something and we heard every thump and word. One guy was talking on his cell phone out on the balcony above our door and we could literally hear every single word he said. They left for the casinos about the time we were going to bed (about 1 am) so it worked out, we didn't bother calling the desk. The bed, as advertised, is a Tempur-pedic. We have one at home, so we were happy with it. New crisp linens on the bed were a nice touch. The room wasn't musty but it looked like it wanted to be. Funky carpet that turned the bottom of my bare feet black, a weird set up with the mini fridge and a small microwave shoved into a corner with the fridge blocking access to it, and a gold colored threadbare sofa with some stains I don't want to speculate about that looked like something off The Seventies Show (or from my teen years). Bathroom was an odd layout due to the shape of the building -- it was pie-shaped, with the toilet tucked into the "point" behind the shower stall. The 2 person jacuzzi tub was clean but only two very skinny people could fit into it at the same time, so don't expect a hot tub in your room. Dim lighting, difficult to read by, and no bedside lamps (well, there was one but the bulb was burnt out). Bugs in the bathroom in the middle of the night: over a dozen (yes, I counted!) of the little "roley poley" bugs between me and the toilet at 4 am...just flicked them aside with a towel, but still...Raid, anyone? And a spider the size of a small crab in the sink in the morning. Ugh. We still laugh at how the description of the place is so out of sync with what we experienced. It was clean enough aside from the harmless little water bugs, and the limo to and from the casino was nice, and the coupon for discounted dinner at Crusty's or Custy's or whatever was okay though we didn't use it, but we'll stay at the Comfort Inn in Mystic (or even the Hilltop down the road on Rte. 2) again rather than here if we can't find a room at Foxwoods. The off-putting things weren't things you could complain about, except maybe for asking for a can of bug spray, so we didn't bother. We just won't go back.
