“Five Star Dinning at its Best”

Bistro At Marshdale

Bistro owners Brian & Sarah Amadio bring with them an extensive background in both fine dinning and customer service. Chef Brian’s culinary experience has taken him from the United States to London England and back again. Locally Brian’s forte also includes time in at the famed Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs. Since their lifelong partnership began, the two have been creating memorable moments for everyone who walk through their doors and we where no exception.

Calling in advance is highly recommended when ever you’re in search of that special taste of résistance for your vegetarian or vegan mate. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Sarah and seated in view of an exceptional old fire place. The historic log interior reminded us of the origins of the building. Our server Bridget went over our menu with a smile reassuring Mary everything was in place for her dining experience. Throughout the evening we enjoyed Doug Neese, piano player extraordinaire. Doug’s selection of contemporary music included the theme from Casablanca. For a moment you could imagine Bogy and McCall off in the corner enjoying a romantic interlude.
My meal began with a generous serving of Escargot Pirouette and Caesar Salad. Known for their superb choice in beef, I enjoyed a thick cut of prime rib for my main course. For desert a Flourless Chocolate Torte finished me off for the evening.
Mary started with Grilled Asparagus and a Balsamic Reduction Paesana Salad. For her main course a Puff Pastry stuffed with vegetables served over a White Wine Veloute. For desert she was presented with apple and cranberry cooked in brandy. Toward the end of the evening Chef Brian came out to spend quality time with each of the guests confirming the evenings experience met everyone’s expectations. For Mary and I, The Bistro at Marshdale delivered an exceptional mountain dinning experience. We will be returning as often as possible.

“Comfortable and Quaint”

Bistro At Marshdale

Aug 1, 2008

We have dined at The Bistro several times since it re-opened under new ownership. The food is consistently quite tasty and we applaud them for their holiday fare. At times, service can be slow. It is such a lovely ambiance and we are hopeful that they continue to thrive and cultivate a strong local following. Also, kudos to the chef for attempting to use organic meats, etc.

“Very bland dishes!”

We recently dined at The Bistro and will not return. The bisque was watery. The pasta dishes were tasteless; shrimp was overcooked. The cheese grinder and a chuck of parmesan fell into our dish! The restaurant would be better if they stuck to the basics instead of dolling up the dishes.

“Loved the atmosphere and the food”

This restaurant is excellent. My husband and I love how it has that homey, log cabin feel, yet it is elegant with white tablecloths on the tables and a fireplace to keep you warm.
We found the food very good and the service friendly. We have been back a couple of times and plan to keep going back.

“Delightful ambiance, perfect romantic spot yet reasonable”

This is a place to which you return. I've dined here a dozen times at least, and the wonderful rustic ambiance (logs, white table cloth, linen) yet so reasonable. The brie in lobster...wow. Every entree has been fabulous. Really. Have not tried many deserts, but they look very edible...and a very good wine selection. This is a romantic spot, with a bed and breakfast located conveniently next door (in case you imbibe too much) and it really is worth the drive.
