My boyfriend and I were very nervous about trying this for the first time but we decided to do it anyway. The ride in the old wooden train was a little chilly but worth the trip. The scenery was gorgeous all the way there. Once there, we were greeted with such warm welcomes. I felt right at home right away. The staff very caringly put us into our harnesses, (we had Andrew), and off we went to get the lo down and what was about to happen. As we climbed up to the first platform the tears started rolling down my face. I'm very afraid of heights but there was no way that I going to miss this. The staff makes you feel like you are the only person in the world, very caring and nurturing. The minute I was soaring all of my fears went away. It was a blast!! After about 4 more times I was totally relaxed. The hardest part was standing on each platform just before they let you go. We were totally safe the whole time. They had us hooked up to either the tree or the soaring line at all times. I cannot say enough about how nurturing, caring, happy, and supportive the staff were. Lunch was so much fun on a platform in the trees and off we went again. It was one of the best days of my life! I would not miss this one.

I went with my 17 year old son. After seeing the ratings on TripAdvisor I thought it should be worth a big detour on our summer road trip. My son actually thought I was crazy for a detour to Durango for a couple of days just because some website said this is the best thing in the US.

We found Durango a wonderful place with lots to do. But soaring trip top was fun, exciting, and the best part of our summer road trip. It is everything that the other reviews say.

We both have great memories and I want to ad my two cents. The staff are amazing and remember all your names. The food is terrific. The view, the train ride and the thrill of flying through the trees is a memory we will never forget.

Want to make your vacation a memorable one? Then you have got to do Soaring Tree ziplines. Absolutely incredible fun, and beautiful country. First off, you can only get here by train, which is included in the price. Second it's some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado on the ride out which is about 1.6 hours from downtown Durango. Once you get there they get you harnessed up, and get you into about a 15 minute instruction on ziplining. After that your off, or should I say up and off. It;s about a five hour adventure thru 30 zipline courses. Some 100-200 ft others 400-600 ft, with the finale a whopping 1400 ft. zipline at 35 mph. Talk about a rush, it's wild. You get a 45 minute gourmet lunch in the trees, and then finish the last half of the course. If you are nervous about safety as I was, let me put your fears to rest, the harnesses are state of the art, with built in redundancy, so even if one should break your still covered. The staff there are unbelievably well trained, and are constantly checking your equipment. All the cables are new, and they check them every morning. Most of the lines are under the canopy so don't worry about sunburn, and the guides said temps run about 70-80 during middle of summer. I'm 42 yrs old, and this was some of the most fun I've ever had with my wife and 11 yr old son on vacation. Make your reservation early, because they only take 50-60 people per day. If you want to see what it's like, go to there website, they have a video of it on their home page. I don't think I left anything out other than oh yeah did I tell you it was incredibly fun!!

We took a large group of interns and mentors from our Houston-based Oil and Gas company on a Zip-line adventure while in the Durango area on July 23rd, 2008. I was not prepared for how impactive this adventure was for our group. The staff of Sky-Rangers were fabulous. The management was onsite and attentive to our every need. The ask your name and remember it....We became friends for the day with 10-15 great ambassadors of the sky.....The fear factor was instantly relieved by an intense concentration on safety and history of the adventure. The initial ground tour gave us a great deal of confidence in how safe their unique patented platforms and rigging were in relation to other operations. We then took to the lines with some shorter rides to get us used to the adventure and then some awesome spans thru the trees. We were upside down, backwards and having the time of our lives. What a thrill!!!! Lunch was served on a platform in the trees. Not a normal box lunch but a goumet treat. We sat at beautifully sculpted metal tables with a view of the river...then climbed a spiral staircase up one of the supporting trees to our first "across the river" line...you go from about 50 feet in the air to 5 feet off the water and then up to a platform in a tree on the other side....I have to mention that you use NO BRAKES! The unique lines are set such that you accelrate for 2/3rds of the length and naturally slow over the last 1/3rd, so as to arrive slowly at the next platform....really takes the thinking and nerves out of the equation.

Our trip was cut a little short by some afternoon rains, but soaring in the rain was a twist on the adventure that was actually some added fun! (Take a dry shirt for the ride back to Durango...or buy one there like I did ...approx $80 for a nice "Columbia" logo shirt). PLEASE DON'T MISS THIS ADVENTURE....We had several cameras, so I will post some pictures when our group gets them all together....
