I have come to believe that airport hotel's were an easy excuse for a hotel chain to have a substandard offering. The Courtyard LAX (do not confuse with the other Courtyard's by LAX) on Century Boulevard is terrific. This is a new hotel, with a outgoing staff, reasonably priced food at the restaurant, and is priced right. Of course, if you know LAX, you there is nothing near by but hotel's and rough stretches of town, so you want to be comfortable at the hotel if you are staying in that area. This hotel allows for that.

I am a Platinum Marriott member, so I was upgraded to a corner suite that I would be happy living in. Marble bathroom, jacuzzi tub, shower, large bedroom, living room, kitchen, and tastefully situated. All around five stars. I will be going back.

I was pleased with the Courtyard LAX until I went back to the room and all my stuff was GONE! I called the front desk to find out that housekeeping had taken my stuff (apparently thinking I had checked out - ???) and that no one had access to it. I had a flight early the next day - before housekeeping came back - so I couldn't get my things back. Luckily I had taken my bag with my car/house keys and ID with me that day so I didn't have a security problem at the airport or a problem getting into my house or car but ?????. The best they could do was mail my stuff back to me. How does that happen????

At the end of a long business trip in March 2008 I needed a quiet place to rest. I shuddered to think that I needed to book a room near LAX because of an early flight but booked it anyway. The Courtyard LAX was a very pleasant surprise. The room was comfy, clean and very quiet - just what I needed. The rate was also very competitive so I will most likely be back!

I needed a room for 1 night near LAX. It was very very close So close you could walk to the LAX sign (terminals you can't walk technically).

Free hotel shuttle - drops off to other hotel first but runs every 15 minutes.

Good rate and nice luxury hotel. Room was nice and large. I had a King sized bed - separated by a wall of storage cabinets from the door and desk. Sink was outside from toilet and shower. Refrigerator under the sink. More storage over the tv

Bed was comfortable. TV was in an odd place but could watch it comfortably from the bed

Downside - noise from the hallway - I could hear the elevator ding, doors closing, and people in the hallway, not soundproof at all.

A plus - I barely heard the airplanes - just a very dull roar - hardly noticed so the soundproof to outside was a plus.

Also felt very safe. Next to the front desk - had a small area that sold sodas, drinks, snacks - open 24 hours. Staff at desk was friendly and mentioned where to find breakfast for a cost.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a hotel near LAX
