“Our safari & day trip organised by Julius”

Julius Safaris Day Trips

Julius is fast becoming a legend on this web site for his safaris and when you go on one organised by him you will see why. His attention to detail, his enthusiasm and endeavour in making sure you enjoy yourself has to be experienced.

I organised a 2 day safari through Julius whilst we were in Kenya for our honeymoon in August back in April/May and paid my deposit. He came to see us where we were staying before the safari to go through the itinerary and then said to us that since we had trusted him with our money now it was time for him to trust us with his money - he did not want the balance until we had come back from the safari and were fully satisfied - a surefire winner once you've been on his safaris as you will not come back any less than satisfied!!

We were picked up @ 4:45 in the morning by the driver (Julius junior!) and as we passed Julius's offices he was there to see us on our way and to ensure we had got everything we needed. We then proceeded to Tsavo East and our driver Julius junior was great - he was so patient and made sure that we thoroughly saw what we could. We had lunch at a fantastic place called Voi Lodge before continuing on our way and visiting Tsavo West to try and see the rhinos at the Rhino Sanctuary but unfortunately they were not coming out to play!! Julius was great at spotting animals and he pointed out and stopped when he saw something; his eyesight was so keen as we could not see some of them initially until he pointed out exactly where they were!

We stopped overnight at the Ngulia Lodge where we missed the visit of the leopard as we were freshening up for dinner! The following morning we passed through Tsavo West to get to Mzumi Springs to see hippos and crocodiles before winding our way back through Tsavo West to head home. A nice lunch at a lovely cafe on the way home and then Julius surprised us by asking us if we wanted to go to see a Masai village as we had some time in hand. We enthusiastically agreed and what an experience that proved to be - something we would have missed out on without the thought of Julius.

As the resort we were stopping at is past Julius's offices we were asked to visit Julius so that he knew that everything was ok; there then followed the nicest interrogation I've ever had as Julius was so concerned that everything was right and that we had enjoyed ourselves!! He is so insistent in knowing if there is anything he could have done better (there wasn't!) and he then said he would visit us in a couple of days to collect the outstanding balance and bring us some gifts (which turned out to be some lovely wood carvings of animals) but for us to think hard before he came to see us to make sure there was nothing else he could have done better. A point to make here is that when we originally booked the safari we paid to share with other people but as luck happened we were all on our own and were not asked to pay any extra because of this.

Julius popped by a couple of days later and I was so impressed by his safari that i asked about his Kisite Park/Wasini Island trip and he gave me such a good price that I felt it was rude to refuse so we said "yes" immediately. We were picked up at 6 in the morning on the day of the trip and another fabulous day was to be enjoyed by us. Once again Julius was there near his office at 7 in the morning to make sure we had got everything before we were driven to Shimona Jetty with 6 other people and we were then taken on one of the little dhow ships to see if we could see some dolphins swimming (which we managed to do). Another great touch here is that Julius ensured that there was only a small party as there was only 8 of us whilst other boats we saw usually had at least double that number on them. After the dolphins it was time to do some snorkelling and I had never snorkelled before - this was the best part of our visit to Kenya as what we saw was just fantastic and I shall definately be snorkelling again.

We then went to Wasini Island for our lunch where we had a fantastic meal of fresh seafood. I do not know what the name of the restaurant was but the food was delicious!! We started off with freshly boiled crab, then we had sea grass in some sauce with chappatis followed by the main meal of red snapper with cocnut rice and potatoes. We finished off with fresh fruit followed by coffee and the waiters were so concerned that we had enough to eat and that we had enjoyed our meal. The food was exquisite and Julius has certainly done his homework in choosing this place to stop for our lunch!! We had a quick walk through Wasini Island with our guide after lunch before we had to board our boat to make our way home. On our way back to our resort we once again had to "report back" to Julius to make sure everything was ok and that we had enjoyed ourselves where once again we were given presents of some wood carvings!!

Do not book a safari through anyone else as Julius's attention to detail and his dedication to customer service is second to none. He really cares and tries so hard to make sure everything is right and that you will enjoy your safari. Also before doing any other day trips see what he has to offer as if the Kisite Park/Wasini Island trip is anything to go by you will not regret going on one of his other trips and he will ensure that you get a great price!!

Julius - thank you, thank you, thank you for your attention to detail and making our honeymoon that extra bit special by your trips.

“Great Safari to Maasi Mari with a realiable tour operator”

We got in contact with Julius a couple of months ago on the basis of reviews in trip advisor to book a 3 night safari from Mombasa.

In the end and after some consideration we went to the Maasi Mara (which was abosolutely fabulous). We looked at a few operators, including probably his closest rival DM Tours, but Julius was the cheapest operator to Kitchwa Tembo (wonderful - reviewed seperately) by some margin. So we opted for JT.

In the end we didn't book until we went and there was no time to transfer the money. We were concerned about both booking with someone we only knew from reviews and also about not having sent a deposit. There was no need to worry as everything was booked when we arrived; Julias arrived at out hotel when we contacted him and also took us to the airpstrip at 7.30am and made sure that we got on the plane. I would say that we didn't get to know him like some other reviewers, but I can say that he was very honest and reliable.

When we got back to the beach hotel we realised that we had left some things in a draw back at Kitchwa Tembo! We contacted JS to see what we could do and, to his credit, he contacted the lodge and made sure that the items were back with us at our hotel a couple of days later - a relief - thanks Julius.

So don't worry book with JT Safaris!

“Tsavo West & Ambosellli”

Julius Safaris Day Trips

We stayed at the Royal Reserve Safari & Beach Club March 2008, arranged through Club La Costa where we also enjoyed a superb three day safari organised for us by Julius Tact of JT Safaris.
Had already read about Julius on Trip Advisor and set up a time to meet, we met Julius & Lucky our driver at our resort, signing them in as our guests. We found Julius most informative and accommodating to our needs. Julius presented us with pictures of lodges and camps and very honestly recommended which sites would be most suitable for us. However we very impressed by Julius’ quiet nature which was not at all pushy and this enabled us to make the best decision for us. We had already decided on 3 days so then decided on Tsavo West and Amboseli.
The first night we stayed at the fabulous Ngulia Lodge where a leopard comes to feed each evening at a floodlit wooden frame just outside of the restaurant - just a few meters away from where the elephants come to drink at the floodlit waterhole!

The second night we stayed at a new camp near to Kibo Camp and the Kimana Gate to the Amboseli national park. But this was not camping in the traditional sense; this was camping in luxury - good beds, great showers, even a swimming pool with great views of Mt Killimanjaro, the game drive from there was full of clear open space, but just full of large herds of very varied, all mixed together game animals! Wonderful!
We were absolutely amazed at the variety of wildlife we saw on this trip, four of the big five. We will defiantly go back (It’s so easy with CLC) hopefully to see the rhino at Tsavo West reserve. It all far exceeded our expectations and we managed to get some wonderful photographs.

Finally Julius met us again afterwards at the Royal Reserve which was a lovely touch, we took the opportunity to recommend him another family, arrangements were made and Julius was again fantastic to best accommodate their specific requirements.

A slightly belated thank you Julius & Lucky!

“What an undescribable great experience!”

Julius Safaris Day Trips

Aug 17, 2008

What an undescribable great experience!
We (family with 4, from the Netherlands) have been on an 8-days-safari with JT Safaris (Julius Takt Safaris) in Kenia.
We have started with our superdriver, Tito, in Mombasa and drove to Tsavo East.
After that, we’ve been to Tsavo West, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara (2 days) and Lake Elemaintaita. After 8 days, we flew back to Mombasa, from Nairobi Airport.
We have seen a lot of animals and experienced some extraordinary situations.
We have been sleeping in a variety of tented camps and lodges, which were all good or very good.
In short, this was a beautiful journey and we will never forget it.
Also because it was all very good arranged and carried out by JT Safaris.
Special was the whole situation, because we planned this journey a year earlier, but unfortunately it could not be this way last year because of sad family circumstances. We had however handed Julius already wide 2/3 of the price. In spite of all sad circumstances after the elections, he kept his word and proved to be reliable.
He gave us back all the money, so it has been in good hands. Therefore Julius is absolutely reliable!

“Julius Safaris - Simply the best!!”

Julius Safaris Day Trips

Aug 17, 2008

If you are searching Tripadvisor for a reliable, great value tour operator who can provide you with an unforgettable safari experience, stop looking. You've found him.

We've just returned from Kenya where we enjoyed a fabulous four day safari organised for us by Julius Tact of JT Safaris.

We arranged the safari before we left the UK after searching through recommendations on this site. Quite frankly, I found the reviews of Julius and his company almost too good to be true. How wrong I was.

Read his reviews and believe them. He really is that good.

After reading Tripadvisor I contacted Julius by email through his website and after a couple of emails we'd agreed our trip at a great price. A four day trip to Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Amboseli National Parks.

Sending the deposit to his bank account cost me a bit extra (Julius can't accept credit cards) but even with this is was a lot cheaper than the competition.

After that the whole thing ran very smoothly.

Julius met us at our hotel a couple of days before the trip for a final briefing, He constantly wants to know what you want to make the experience exceptional - and then he makes sure he provides it.

I went with my wife and two teenage kids and Julius provided us with a great driver - Manzir - and an eight seater 4wd for our exclusive use. We had lots of room and the opportunity to stop when we wanted to. We saw many similar vehicles loaded to the brim with people - some of whom had to struggle to get an opportunity to photograph the animals.

We we absolutely amazed at the variety of wildlife we saw on this trip. It far exceeded our expectations and we managed to get some wonderful photographs. I can't remember all they types of wonderful birds we saw but here's just of some of the animals we saw: waterbuffalo, elephants, giraffe, rhino, leopard, dik dik, impala, antelope, cheetah, gazelle, baboons, zebra, ostrich, jackal, crocodile, hippos, lavu. hyenas, wildesbeast and ELEVEN lions! It was a trip of a lifetime!

But this was not camping in the traditional sense, this was camping in luxury - good beds, great showers, hair-dryers, tea making kettle, and even a safe! Cloud meant we missed the view of Killimanjaro but the memory of the Masai nightwatchman dressed in his warrior regalia (complete with spear, machete, and wooden club) escorting us back to our tents from the camp fire certainly made up for it.

Our last night was at the Voi Lodge and this was our families favourite. It had the atmosphere of a bygone time (very much the feel of an Alpine mountain hotel) and a spectacular panoramic view over the park. It was magical.

Both Manzir, our driver, and Julius could not do enough to make our trip special. We arrived back at our fabulous Kole Kole hotel in Diani early evening, just in time for dinner. An unforgettable trip.

Trust them to show you their country and you will have memories that will last for the rest of your life.

Thank you Julius!
