After reading the reviews of all the restaurants in the Tombstone area, I unwittingly decided to make Nellie Cashman's our stop for lunch. We arrived and were one of only two tables taken in the establishment. We were greeted promptly and friendly by our male waiter. He was the most pleasing part of the meal. I ordered the open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, which was average at best. My husband ordered the daily special which read, "A Large Bowl of Homemade Chili." Well I can only speculate that large in TN is much different than large in AZ. This would have been a "large bowl" by dainty New Yorkers brunch standards but in the "wild west" one expects a man-sized bowl. Not the case. My husband, who is not a big man but a man with a healthy appetite was still hungry after his "large" bowl of chili. After our disappointment with the meal we decided to forget the pie, which everyone raved about so fervently. Other establishments looked more interesting, and I can only imagine that their food would have been as good or better than our choice.

I rated Nellie Cashman's as "above average" compared to the other restaurants in Tombstone not in the whole world. That's fairly important!

This restaurant provides a nice break from the bar/saloon/restaurant combos available in Tombstone. It's located on a side street, is rather small, and most importantly is quiet.

Most of the places in Tombstone are very loud with country music, rock music, or live bands. It's impossible in most to even hear yourself think.

The food at Nellie's was quite good. They tend toward homestyle cooking which is also a nice change in town.

The decor is somewhat uninspired and looks like a combination of an old family style diner and an antique shop. However, the people are friendly and polite and the place on our trip was nearly deserted allowing our whole group of 18 to be seated at once and enjoy a meal together.

Prices are what you'd expect in a tourist destination but not so bad that you'll break your budget.

Pleasant, quiet and friendly would be my summary of this little historic restaurant.

Nellie Cashman's is a true Tombstone treasure with its history, staff, and food. Dining there, you can almost imagine Doc Holliday striding in the door. The staff was wonderful. Peter waited on us everyday, and practically read our minds, his service was spot-on! The owner is sweet, and takes a bag of carrots out to the Wild West show horses every morning. The food was delicious, hearty, and consistently made. LOVED IT!

My husband and I ate dinner at Nellies after being on the road for a few days. It was a welcome change from food on the go and the norm. It tasted like home cooking and the server was more than just nice she was outstanding and friendly. Highly recomend it!
