Bottom line up front:
We've enjoyed our visits to Sedona and our stay at Boots and Saddles so much that we've invited our oldest son and his lovely bride to join us there next year.
This was our second week-long stay at Boots and Saddles and it was just as good as our first visit. Sam and Irith make you feel like family and do everything possible to make your visit to Sedona a great experience.
On your first morning, Sam will sit you down for an "orientation" and show you places of interest, various hiking trails, lunch and dinner recommendations as well as places to avoid.
Need a dinner recommendation or reservation? Then Sam is your "go-to-guy". He and Irith eat at the various restaurants in town. He will recommend only those places that pass his high standards. When you need to make a reservation, he'll whip out his cell and call the place without using speed dial!
The rooms are are beautiful and comfortable. The walk-in showers are HUGE and offer great views and the hot tub on the balcony is the perfect way to recover from a day of hiking and climbing.
However, the highlight of the stay is the daily breakfast ritual. Sam prepares every breakfast alternating between a "sweet" day and a "savory" day.
Breakfast is served at 8:30 and is different every day of your stay and they don't serve the items commonly found on the menus of the popular "breakfast restaurants" (e.g., pancakes, omelets, etc). Instead, you'll enjoy a pleasantly unique and fullfilling repaste.
