“Ok for the money good location”

Stayed at the Ramada January 20th through the 22. The location of the hotel is great for seeing Scottsdale on foot or by trolley. The noise from the bar across the street was troublesome on a Saturday night. Also the sheets had a small hole in them. Having said that, the hotel was clean, roomy and again the location was excellent. Pricing other hotels in the neighborhood, I felt this hotel provided adequate value.
Not a hotel I can't wait to go back to or would want to stay in for a week, but it was good for a couple of days

“Please don't stay here”

I travel extensively for work and have stayed at some poor hotels, but this was my worst experience ever. The room I had reserved is on the third floor overlooking the pool. The heat didn't work and it was 40 degrees. There were holes in the walls and most of the furniture was damaged. I called down to the front desk and they moved me to the first floor near the pool and vending machines. This room had minor damage to the walls, but the heat worked so I stayed. The carpet was stained, the shower curtain was badly stained and the toilet seat had numerous nicks and chips. The sink counter was badly stained but the bed was comfortable. When I got back from work on my second night, I pulled back the bedspread and saw that the sheets were badly stained. Either the maid had changed the bedding with badly stained sheets or someone had an encounter in my room. I reported it to the front desk and stated I was checking out. I told the front desk clerk, I was going to call the GM and owner. He asked me to do that since he was tired of dealing with similar problems each day. I have reported all of this to Ramada corporate. The bummer is that the location of this hotel is perfect, close to old Scottsdale and withing walking distance of tons of shops and restaurants. It is shame they don't take better care of it. Don't stay here!

I rate this hotel "terrible," based upon it's location in Old Town Scottsdale. I wanted a place to crash on a Saturday night. The property seems dated... like from the late 60's. The stucco needs a rehab. The room was tiny and cramped. Allthough it was marked "non-smoking," the waft of tobacco was heavy when we entered.

The paint was peeling off the bathroom door. Many of the cieling tiles were water damaged. The ironing board was shot, and the iron caked with lime deposits from the the local hard water. Those two items are the easiest to fix too. There was mildew in the bathtub/shower and the drain was painfully slow, so water backed up as you showered...

Immediately, I wished I'd spent the extra $17 to stay at another place in Old Town where I've been happy before.

Don't stay there, ever!

I booked this hotel over Hotwire, so I didn't quite know what to expect, although I've had good luck with this service in the past. The first indication that this was not a first-rate hotel is that the two front desk clerks were outside smoking cigarettes at the entrance as we drove up (well, at least they weren't smoking INSIDE!) The hotel appears to be at least 40 years old, and is in serious need of renovation, if not being a serious candidate for a complete tear-down. Lighting in outdoor hallways is very dim, and it was hard to find our room (rooms have doors that open to the outside hallway). The room was clean enough (although very dated with old furniture and paintings), but the real problem was when we sat in the room for a few minutes - they have a very old, antiquated ventilation system which gasped and wheezed throughout the entire night. And if that isn't bad enough, you could also hear the ventilation system in the rooms next door - like stereo. A call to the front desk didn't bring any relief. The final topper was the next morning (after a rather sleepless night) when I went in to take a shower, and there was no hot water (at 8 AM!)....of course, I have to remind myself that "you get what you pay for", but I think I would have preferred sleeping in my car!

Find another place to stay on your next trip to the Scottsdale area - even Motel 6 would have been an improvement!

“Not too happy.”

I stayed here because it was close to where our baseball team was playing a weekend tournament and the whole team was staying at this location. I arrived at the front desk and it was like the person at the front desk didn't even want to acknowledge we were there. Finally he came over and started the ball rolling. I went up to the room and turn the air conditioning on (mind you, this is Arizona and summertime). We went to a game and I came back to find the room hot. I checked the a/c to make sure I had set it right. I called down to the front desk for maintenance. He informed me that since it was the weekend, no one was available. The front desk clerk said there were no other rooms available either. I asked if at least an oscilating fan could be brought up to the room. He said no one was there except him and if I wanted it, I had to come get it. I did and came back into the room to at least open a window and the windows wouldn't open. I repeatedly asked for management and was told they weren't available. After I checked out the next morning, I still requested management to contact me. Finally 5 days later the manager called and told me he would issue a credit to me. Well, 2 months later and still no credit. Big surprise. I have to say, at least the bed was nice, if you can get past the tossing and turning because you can't sleep because of the heat! Breakfast was nice if you like twinkies and juice.
