After eagerly anticipating my first experience dining at Roy's, and after hearing great reveiws of the Roy's in Orange County, CA...I was left very dissapointed.
The appetizer was nice, but it went downhill from there. The salad tasted like a bagged salad you would get from a neighborhood grocery and the "hawaiian" dressing had no taste at all. There were no salt or pepper shakers on the table to even try and give it some semblance of flavor.
The entree was brutal. I had a hebi dish in which the fish itself looked and tasted like it had been run over by a car, under which were some mashed potatoes with some sort of herb on them. Have to look pretty before they taste pretty ya know?!?!
Now for the good part -- the pudding...er, uh, I mean dessert sampler. Yeah, that's right -- I ordered the dessert sampler and was brought a bowl-shaped piece of crust filled with chocolate pudding that very well could have been Jell-o. Oh, and a splash of cool whip on top.
Needless to say...very dissappointed indeed. ***shaking head***
