“Avoid this tourist trap!”

My husband and I went to the TF expecting to have Mexican food. The patio dining was nice and the weather was perfect for dining outside. After reviewing the menu, we decided that there were several items that sounded appetizing and we decided to stay.

We started with the chorizo fundido, which tasted good, but lacked chorizo. For dinner my husband had the stuffed filet mignon, which was very bland. I had the shawnee sea bass with shrimp quesadillas. The sea bass was bland and greasy and the shrimp in the quesadillas was over cooked and tasted like I was eating metal with a blob of cheese. Needless to say, we were very disappointed with our overpriced, marginal meals and suffered through the evening with indigestion & upset stomachs. After almost one week of excellent dining in Scottsdale, our last night turned out to be the worst meal of the trip :(

A cab driver recommended this restaurant to me. I gave it a try on a Wednesday evening in July. It took a while for the waiter to come over, but once he did, the service was very good. I ordered the Pork Chile Verde. It was delicious. The margaritas are very expensive and not very good-- save your money on those. I found the homemade tortillas to be delicious.

The restaurant is a bit of a tourist trap but in the middle of July, I was one of the only diners.

“Really disappointing...worst Mother's Day surprise ever.”

Took my mother for mother's day to meet my sister. They opened 10 minutes late, leaving 10 of us restaurant goers in the hot 100+ sun. Went into the bar to wait for my sister & ordered 2 margaritas. They were very good but it took 15 minutes to get them. Water took 2 requests.

The food was marginal & I was sick the next day from it. Never again. Paid over $100 before tip.

“Great Food, Nice Outdoor Patio”

We took the advice of a local resident and went to the Tortilla Factory on our last night in Scottsdale. We were very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. The food was above average. I had a lot of mexican food during our trip so I selected what I thought was a simple pasta dish with checken but it exceeded my expectations. Very light and fresh. My husband selected pork in green chile sauce, and loved it. We enjoyed dinning on the outdoor patio, the atmosphere was casual and confortable. The patio was filled on a Thursday evening. The only drawback is that the patio furniture was very basic (plastic chairs) and I noticed an older woman having a little trouble getting out of her seat. The small white lights in the trees were a nice touch. Overall we were very pleased.

“Great outdoor area. OK food.”

Went to Tortilla Factory for dinner on 5-24-2007.

I thought this would be closer to the Old Town Scottsdale. And it was one of the very lively, crazy places. However it is pretty far from old town. And the place was pretty quite. Not a party place. At 8 pm the outside was maybe a third filled. And the inside was empty.

I had the Chicken Calabacitas. Good and spicy. Girlfriend had the Stuffed Quesadilla. Just OK.
Service was just OK. Need to be a little more attentive.

They claim to have the Best Margarita. NO WAY is this true. They were just average. To even be considered as great margaritas you must blend in real fruit. And have chunks of real fruit in the margarita. Had much better all over the place. Even in Chicago.
