I spent a single night here before the Memorial Day weekend.

Although the hotel itself was typical for an airport Marriott (which is usually quite good), the service I received was far better than I had expected. The shuttle from the airport was prompt and friendly - the driver handed me an ice cold bottle of water as I boarded. The desk clerk checking me in recognized my name immediately because my wife had called ahead and faxed my kids' report cards - she was excited to give them to me. Though these were small gestures, they made me feel welcome and valued as a guest.

The room was very comfortable, clean, and most importantly, quiet.

The restaurant was nice but definitely overpriced.

Internet access is NOT free. The concierge lounge on the 12th floor has a free continental breakfast in the morning and an honor bar in the evening.

The shuttle runs continuously - the ride to the airport takes about 15 minutes.

We enjoy staying at the Marriott Airport in Phoenix once a year for the last five years. The last time we were there in April 08 we learned to ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel from the highway. Our room faced the highway and the airport in the distance. The traffic noise was loud and constant all night long. I have a hearing handicap and the noise was still enough to keep this otherwise sound sleeper tossing and turning. We'll stay there again but only on the other side of the building away from the noise of the highway. The staff, cleanliness, parking, and location are all excellent. Skip the restaurant for dinner. The menu is nice but the food was overdone. The restaurant is clean and has great service staff but the food preparation is not Marriott standard. It is a bother that they still charge for internet service!

Hotel location was very convenient.
Pool was heated and clean.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Room was spacious and in good shape.

Unfortunately, during our stay, the vending machines on all floors werent fully stocked: no bottled water! arghh!

Recently spent one night here prior to flying out from Sky Harbor Airport. We had stayed here two years ago for three nights and loved it. Unfortunately this experience wasn't as great. Not bad, but nothing exceptional. On the first stay the staff went out of their way to be friendly but this time not so. I'm wondering if it has a new manager. The physical facility is fine and the room was clean and comfortable but the great customer service experience from previously was missing. It was just average. We ate in the dining room anticipating a great meal but it was only average. In fact I couldn't eat my chicken as it was undercooked. The waiter did take it off the bill. It was convenient to the airport but not sure that I would stay here again.
