We stayed in this Hotel for three days when we visited Ushuaia for our honeymoon. The hotel is very nice and clean. The room was spacious and very clean too. Although it is away from the vilalge centre, the hotel provides a free transfer service, or one could opt to get a taxi which is not at all expensive. We highly recommend this hotel. we stayed in this hotel before and after going to the Antarctic. We spent 5 days there all together, and loved it. We were not experienced travellers and our language skills were embarrasingly poor, but we got on quite well here in the hotel and resteraunt. We did find the dinner menu a little sparse in items, but overall quite good food and friendly, proffessional service.

The view from the hotel was great, the roads were a little dusty as we like walking, but the area around the hotel was very interesting. The hotel is a few minites from the central area, but the shuttle was prompt and the cabs more than reasonable and helpful. Our over all stay was wonderful and if we go back to Ushuaia we would stay at the Los Nires again.

We stayed here because we were going to Antarctica and this was the allocated hotel. It is not in the town centre and its up a dirt track which means that wearing anything clean is a waste of time. The rooms were plain and simple and no lift to the first floor for luggage. We only stayed one night thank heavens as I would not be able to stay any longer. We were late down for breakfast at 0900 and there was virtually nothing left to eat and the remnants were not good. We made another mistake and had sandwiches for lunch. A two year old could have prepared something more attractive and tasty than the offering we got. There is a courtesy bus to take you away which didn't leave often enough for us.
Lots of internet availability and quite a good view of the Beagle sound.

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Los Nires for 3 nights during our Ushuaia trip. This is a good hotel, located outside of the town center, with a beautiful mountain back drop. The two cons are somewhat significant: our large room window with a view of the mountains also looked out at the hotel restaurant (kind of killed any romance). And the hotel shuttle to the main town only left once an hour or once every two hours. However, if we missed the shuttle, we took a taxi which only cost about 12-13 pesos (or $4 dollars) and the taxi drivers were all rather friendly and fun. So it wasn't a problem at all.

The pros include helpful staff that arranged a tour of the beagle channel through one of the companies located on the pier (made life much easier); big room and comfortable bed; big bathroom; great breakfast; common living room with TV that had english speaking channels. After being away from home for over 2 weeks, we were desperate for some news to catch up on things. The setting was also quite beautiful with mountains in the background.
