My partner and I stayed at Hotel Los Nires for 3 nights during our Ushuaia trip. This is a good hotel, located outside of the town center, with a beautiful mountain back drop. The two cons are somewhat significant: our large room window with a view of the mountains also looked out at the hotel restaurant (kind of killed any romance). And the hotel shuttle to the main town only left once an hour or once every two hours. However, if we missed the shuttle, we took a taxi which only cost about 12-13 pesos (or $4 dollars) and the taxi drivers were all rather friendly and fun. So it wasn't a problem at all.

The pros include helpful staff that arranged a tour of the beagle channel through one of the companies located on the pier (made life much easier); big room and comfortable bed; big bathroom; great breakfast; common living room with TV that had english speaking channels. After being away from home for over 2 weeks, we were desperate for some news to catch up on things. The setting was also quite beautiful with mountains in the background.

I spent three nights at the Hotel Los Nires before and after an expedition to Antarctica. The Hotel is very, very clean and comfortable, even if it is a bit far away from downtown Ushuaia.

My room was very spacious (even by American standards), and the bathroom had just been renovated. In fact the bathroom belongs in a world-class, five-star hotel; complete with travertine tiles, granite, and plenty of counter space.

The hotel has a retaurant that serves agreeable meals. The menu at dinner has good variety, and the breakfast buffet is quite good.

The hotel has two free Internet terminals, and there is Wi-Fi in the lobby.

The hotel is about 4 kilometers from downtown Ushuaia. It's too far to walk unless you really like to walk. The hotel does run a complimentary shuttle, however, and it ran on schedule while I was there. Of course, a taxi from the hotel to the center of town is only $5 USD.

I'd stay there again if I returned to Ushuaia. It's got a great, scenic location on the Beagle Channel, and it's nice to escape the hustle and bustle of central Ushuaia. It feels like you're staying at a private house in the suburbs. Great hotel!

When I first arrived at the Hotel "Los Nires" and stood on the balcony of the restaurant overlooking the Beagel Channel I really had the greeat feeling of being at the end of the world, a feeling I will never forget.

The location is wonderful for those who look for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere like myself. The services offered are excellent for those who look for comfortable and clean accomodation and tasty eating. The shuttle service was also a great advantage and the coordination with the tour companies was very successful. All staff, even the shuttle driver were very kind and helpfull.
During my next visit to Ushuaya I will stay again at Hotel Los Nires.

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Los Niros Hotel for two nights in December prior to our going to Antarctica. We were pleasantly pleased with everything about the hotel. Although it is situated a little ways out of town, the taxis were very inexpensive and the hotel's shuttle service was right on time. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the staff had no problems communicating with us in English. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. In fact, we ate our second dinner there instead of going back into town, because the food was so good. I would highly recommend The Los Niros Hotel to any and all.
