We originally booked at Ayres de Palermo but upon arriving were told that there was a problem with the hotel and they were transferring us to this property in Recoleta. We were a bit skeptical, but they called us a cab, paid for it and didn't charge us more for this location, even though they admitted it was a better location.
The room itself was quite comfortable. It was modern and roomy and included a kitchenette. The property includes a beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi.
The location was excellent. It was half a block from the Recoleta cemetary, excellent bars, cafes and restaurants, and a very nice artisan's market on the weekends - not to mention Uru factory leather shop where my wife had a leather jacket made custom for less than US$200.
They didn't offer breakfast onsite, but gave us a voucher for a very good breakfast buffet at a local coffee shop two blocks away.
The best part of our experience at this hotel was the very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone from the front desk to the bellboys spoke quite good English and remembered us each time we visited on our trip (we stayed at the hotel at the beginning of our trip and at the end of our trip and even checked our bags there for an afternoon between a flight and a bus trip in the middle of our trip.) The staff helped make restaurant suggestions and reservations for us (we highly recommend Sucre) and helped to arrange transfers and tours - and even found a tour to take us to a Boca Juniors game, which we ended up not doing.
After comparing experiences of Buenos Aires hotels with other travelers on our journey we realized that we had stumbled upon a true gem here.
