“Perfect In Every Way”

Ayres de Recoleta Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Here and there
Nov 7, 2008

The Ayers De Recoleta offers excellent accommodations and my husband and I couldn't have picked a better place to spend our honeymoon.

First up the staff is *exceptionally* friendly, helpful, communicative, well-organized, and efficient. They set up tours, gladly gave local advice, and kept an eye out for us in regards to our safety. I have stayed in over 20 countries and the Ayers' staff is one of the best.

Additionally, I would venture to say that our room, along with every inch of the hotel, was one of the cleanest places in all of Buenos Aires. The Cartier boutique had more dust than this place. The housekeepers do a great job, pay immense attention to detail, and are 100% honest - they even attempted to return some of our abandoned travel size items shortly after check-out. We had a solid, working safe in our room but never felt the need to use it. None of our luggage or purchases were ever rifled through or otherwise disturbed.

If location, location, location is important to you, the Ayers will fulfill your greatest expectations. Nestled on a quiet side street in the heart of Buenos Aires, shopping malls, boutiques, clubs, cafes, restaurants of every kind, historic Recoleta Cemetery, the amazing Recoleta Cultural Center, the Belles Art Museum, bridge across the River, and blocks of parks, greenery, and the best of city life are literally steps from your door.

My husband and I have agreed to return for our 10 year anniversary; we can't wait!!!

*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO EVERYONE*

My husband and I really enjoyed this small, personal hotel in the most prestigious part of Buenos Aires. We could actually see the Recoleta Cemetary from our hotel room. Staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful in meeting our every need. They even turned on the Spa tuboutdoors for us! Room was comfortable and included a kitchenette - nice to be able to chill water, etc. The entire hotel has a very modern look including well designed bathrooms and comfortable common areas. You cannot beat this hotel for LOCATION, COMFORT and PRICE!

Amazing. We stayed six nights. Very comfortable room with a small kitchen, comfortable bed and quiet. There is a gym, heated pool and we had free internet access in the room. The staff was helpful in booking tickets, dinner reservations, and giving directions. Great location. We could walk to wonderful restaurants, easy to access the subway and very safe. For the price and location, definitely worth it, especially if you are traveling for an extended period of time.

“All the comforts of home at an affortable price”

Ayres de Recoleta Hotel

We used this hotel as “home base” during our honeymoon in Argentina – checking in and out during domestic travel getaways.

We stayed in Room 1001 which was clean and had all the comforts of home. Our room had a double bed, kitchenette, and bathroom. We also had a balcony with a built-in BBQ grill and view of the Recoleta cemetery and the Plazaleta de Recoleta. A couple cons – the shower door did not cover the entire span of the tub thereby water tended to splash all over the place whenever my 6 foot tall hubby showered. The balcony wall was too high, so if seated on the deck chairs, you had a wonderful view of a cement wall. Not to worry, as there are plenty of towels to soak up the water. And, Buenos Aires has so much to do that we almost never sat in the deck chairs. The floor above contained a sauna and gym that was hardly ever used; therefore we didn’t have any noisy neighbors. The main floor contained a small pool and Jacuzzi and 2 computers with free internet access. The bilingual bell boys were very friendly, and did their best to help whenever possible.

Breakfast was included from 7:00 to 11:00am, and available at Tea Connection – a tea house 1 block away from the hotel. The spread was decent – coffee/tea, juices, breads, jams/jellies (of course dulce de leche), fruits, meats and cheeses. We quickly learned that people in Buenos Aires just pick an empty table and sit down – so don’t wait to be seated or you might be waiting a long time! Also, brush-up on some basic Spanish as the staff here does not speak English. Lastly, and this might sound a little weird, place a napkin over your plate before serving yourself. The plates are made of wood and have a peculiar smell that drove me crazy!

The area itself has a lot to do. The main attraction being the Cemetery – home to many angel statues and hundreds of live cats! You must pay a visit to the tomb of Evita. There are also lots of restaurants and shops. Make sure you get some gelato from Freddo’s. There is a flea market on Saturday on the grounds outside the cemetery where you can haggle for touristy take home items. If you prefer name brand shopping, check out Patio Bullrich. The neighborhood of Palermo is walking distance away. There are also several gardens and museums in the vicinity.
