We stayed at the Claridge for 8 nights and felt safe there. Our room was on the 6th floor at the back overlooking the pool. The room was a good size with large wardrobes and comfortable bed but the decor was a little tired. Although the bathroom was small it was well appointed and the daily maid service was of a high standard. Laundry service was excellent. Buffet breakfast was varied and of good quality. Pool area and spa were outstanding and a real oasis away from the bustle of BA. All staff were courteous, efficient and very helpful with restaurant bookings, taxis etc. Bar does close promptly at midnight! Hotel is very well located for shops, bars, restaurants and shows. if they send a car to meet you at the airport - don't expect a limo!

We spent a total of seven nights at the Claridge as a base in Buenos Aires. The hotel has a number of good points: very helpful front desk staff, a great spa, a reasonable breakfast (though no fresh omelettes offered) and a good afternoon tea. It is also quite stylish looking. However, as others have noted, the rooms are on the small side. They are comfortable, and have good bathroom, coffee making facilities (slightly eccentric ones) and nice furniture, but ours had one poky wardrobe which was crowded with a huge safe. The bar is nice enough. But its refusal to serve residents - in Buenos Aires!! - after midnight if nobody else is already in the bar, despite claiming to stay open until 1 am is bizarre. The bar staff simply shake their heads. So while we had a pleasant enough stay here, there are better alternatives.

When you arrrive at the hotel it is very impressive, it is a gorgeous looking building from the outside and the reception and bar area is fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful (with the exception of just 1), but the rooms?! It has to be the worst room I have ever stayed in, it was soo small there is just enough room to walk round the bed and there is one very small cupboard and the bathroom is equally as small. The other bad thing is that the walls are paper thin, we could hear people walking past our room going for breakfast at 7am (most of the people staying here were over the age of 70!) if you use the bathroom at the same time as your neighbour you may as well be using the same bathroom - you can hear everything! is is as if they were in the same room as you. It is a great location and if it was a cheap 3 star hotel, it would be good for people on a budget, but it isn't particularly cheap and I guess because of the facilities the hotel has (gym, pool etc.) it is starred higher, but the rooms do not reflect this.

We just returned home from a trip to BA and must say the Claridge was a disappointment. We stayed at the Mine Hotel (highly recommend) for the first part of trip and concluded our visit at the Claridge. The location was good and the front desk was helpful.......BUT, the rooms were very small, dingy and very stuffy. You can tell by the celebrity pictures on the wall in the fitness center, this hotel's hayday was back in the 1970s! The walls were so thin every time our neighbor was unlocking their door, I thought someone was coming into our room! Plus, we are both non-smokers and unfortunately the air vents are connected between rooms so our neighbors' pack-a-day habit made its way into our room every night. When I called to complain all housekeeping said is that they could come up and "spray" our room.....needless to say we had to sleep with the windows (no screen) wide open and listen to traffic all night. Overall, I would say that location was not enough for me to return to the Claridge or recommend it to a friend.
