The rooms are tiny and in need of renovation. Everything was dingy. Walls are paper thin. Several times I thought the people next door or in the hall were actually in my room! The bed was terribly uncomfortable...very lumpy. I would have slept on the floor had it not been so dirty. The room was very warm and stuffy (they shut off the AC during the winter). To air it out I had to leave the window open. There is a parking garage nearby and anytime anyone entered or left there was a dinging sound (every couple of minutes) that resonated right up to the room! The dinging was relentless, even at 2 in the morning. I was unhappy that I paid so much to be so uncomfortable. I hardly slept and was extremely tired for the next couple of days.

The Claridge is in an excellent location (lots of shopping right around the corner) and the staff there was very friendly and spoke English, however, I would never stay at this place again or recommend it to any of my friends and family.

“Great value and location”

I stayed 7 nights altogether with a break in the middle. The hotel is lovely and the staff are exceptionally helpful. My only complaint is that the first room was next to the staff service lift and corridor and was very noisy on and off from 7.30am through to 11pm,(room 413). The second room was noisy because it was an adjoining room and there seemed to be no sound proofing at all (612). There was a demonstration on Aug. 7 because some staff were sacked in July. We came back from shopping to check out, to find riot police and the hotel covered in graffitti. The staff were great and helped us get a taxi but they could have warned residents in advance as they put the grills on the windows so they had obviously been expecting it. It was quite scary to arrive outside and hear drums and watch firecrackers being thrown at the hotel. Also, the pool was closed fro renovation for a month.
Best rates anywhere are hotel website. Even the hotel staff offered me rates US$45 higher per night.

“great choice”

We stayed at the Claridge for a family wedding.
Our family had 4 rooms booked for 9 days and they were all excellent.
Maybe a little over perfumed, but very clean. All had a safe which was essential..

Several other friends stayed as well and we all got great rooms. Some changed rooms which was no hassle.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

Highly recommended

“Perfect location, ideal for a city stay”

Our first stop in South America and The Claridge was a real bonus to start with. Checked in early and the staff at the desk were superb all through. Their english is perfect and they showed great consideration in everyway to all the questions they were asked. They were very informative and always very attentive, they rang places up and made bookings for tours and a Tango show. Top marks for those at the front desk.
The location of the hotel could not be better, come out the front door, turn right and 1 minute later you are on Florida the main pedestrianised street in BA, turn left and 10-15 mins you are in the new port area, full of good restaurants, a great place for a drink and to watch the world go by. A really good restaurant is a 1 min walk out the door of the hotel and on the left, on the corner of the hotels street and San Martin, Posada de 1820. Well worth a visit.
We stayed on the 4th floor, the room was comfortable, not the biggest but that was not our concern, very clean, comfortable with air conditioning and plenty of clean towels. The buffet breakfast was incredible, you do get sick of it after a few days, but the choice is incredible, hot and cold and a huge array of pastries. You canread the Buenos Aires Herald as you dine in the morning. The bar is a nice place to relax in the afternoons and the toasted ham and cheese sandwich is huge and one would do for 2 people. Dont be in a hurry here, as everything is very relaxed!!! A great place to plot your next excursion or shopping trip !!!!! A great hotel in the heart of the Argentinian capital, was just perfect.
On your 1st night in BA and you have nothing planned, ask the desk to book Senor Tango, you get collected from hotel, dinner and a great show which introduces you to Argentina. A good start !!
