“Great Hotel, and Not Just for Business”

Hilton Buenos Aires

Nov 30, 2008

The Buenos Aires Hilton is nothing like, and is far superior to, the typical Hilton located in the U.S. If you can afford this hotel (US $270 + tax, for one person for one night) it is hard to conceive why you would stay anywhere else in Buenos Aires (unless you need classic fine furnishings and an elite address, in which case you could stay at the Alvear for three times the price). The location is perfect: a modern, quiet and safe neighborhood with excellent restaurants, that is an easy walk from the center of the city and two subway lines. There is a swimming pool on the roof (next to a well equipped gym) with an unsurpassed view of the city skyline. Service is outstanding. The rooms are large and the climate controls are effective and noiseless. I prefer beds on the softer side, and found this one a bit hard, but still acceptable. The Hilton Buenos Aires has a reputation as a hotel for business people, and many of the guests relaxing in the spectacular atrium/lobby were wearing suits, but I was there strictly for tourism, never felt the slightest bit uncomfortable or out of place, and, if anything, felt like the people wearing business attire elevated the decor. During my five day stay, there were two or three small problems, but each one was taken care of instantaneously and completely. The only real downside is that the hotel food is too expensive, and the coffee is disgracefully bad, but there are excellent alternative dining options within easy walking distance.

“Location, Location, Location”

Hilton Buenos Aires

OK without doubt this is the best Hilton I have stayed in (excluding Conrad brand) and if on an expense account I would definitely recommend this hotel 100%. As a paying tourist you need to remember that strict 'portion control' is applied to absolutely everything and that costs can roll up very quickly.
Ignoring the extras, the rooms are a very generous size and the corporate style decorations are verging on the pleasant. The bathrooms are palatial and have both bath and walk in shower and joy of joys also have one of those wonderful gizmos that allow a line to be run out over the bath to dry your 'smalls' on.
In my own view there is one reason only to stay here, and this is a reason that will no doubt have me staying there again in the future, and that is location. Get yourself sat at one of the many waterside restaurants and tuck into a 3 course dinner with wine and then stagger the few metres back to the hotel and all of a sudden the Hilton seems like the ideal place to stay.

“Wonderful place to stay in BA”

Hilton Buenos Aires

5 of 5 stars
Portland, OR
Oct 31, 2008

We really enjoyed our stay at the BA Hilton. My husband travels a lot for work and we stayed on the executive level and were grateful to receive a lot of assistance from the concierge desk. Our favorite part of the hotel was the pool which had a wonderful view of the city. Also, we liked that the hotel was not in the super busy central part of the city, but rather in Puerto Madero which is within walking distance of the center, but the general area along water was quieter. Still, there were several restaurants in the area and we did not feel at all isolated.

“brilliant hotel”

Hilton Buenos Aires

5 of 5 stars
Woodstock, United Kingdom
Oct 27, 2008

I stayed in the Hilton Buenos Aires for two weeks for business, and really loved every minute of it. From the first minute I arrived, when they were able to give me a room despite me arriving at 7.40am, to the day I checked out when I was given a very late check out, the hotel provided everything I could need, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful.

Usually when I stay at a hotel, I don't really engage with the staff for that much, but staying for such a long time, it was really nice to have such attentive staff. Everyone was very nice and they all spoke flawless English, but I have to mention Rodrigo the porter and Vanesa from reception as being particularly helpful and friendly. Also the red-head at reception whose name I don't recall.

The rooms in the hotel are massive, really spacious with lots of areas to store luggage. the bed was extremely comfortable and there was a very big TV, although I didn't watch much as there was so much to see and do in Buenos Aires in the evening. The bathroom was one of the biggest I've ever seen in the hotel, with a ton of counter space, and a nice walk in shower, and a separate bath. All the furnishings seemed new and top quality, and as noted in another review, everything was set up very nicely for business too.

The health club had an extensive range of workout machines, and the pool was nice too, if very very cold. It's not a particularly big pool, maybe 10m long, although that's just an estimate. Usually I had it to myself which was great.

The location of the hotel is good - it's in probably the safest area of Buenos Aires, and is only a short walk from the centre, and the Retiro business district. As mentioned in other reviews there are a lot of swanky restaurants nearby.

A few very minor complaints - internet access was expensive - something like £70 for a week, which I thought was way too high. Laundry was also costly, but a necessary evil for me as I was there for so long.

Anyway, in short, this was without doubt one of the best, if not the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Buenos Aires is an incredible city, and the Hilton is an incredible hotel. I'd like to pack it up and take it with me everywhere I go!
