“brilliant hotel”

Hilton Buenos Aires

5 of 5 stars
Woodstock, United Kingdom
Oct 27, 2008

I stayed in the Hilton Buenos Aires for two weeks for business, and really loved every minute of it. From the first minute I arrived, when they were able to give me a room despite me arriving at 7.40am, to the day I checked out when I was given a very late check out, the hotel provided everything I could need, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful.

Usually when I stay at a hotel, I don't really engage with the staff for that much, but staying for such a long time, it was really nice to have such attentive staff. Everyone was very nice and they all spoke flawless English, but I have to mention Rodrigo the porter and Vanesa from reception as being particularly helpful and friendly. Also the red-head at reception whose name I don't recall.

The rooms in the hotel are massive, really spacious with lots of areas to store luggage. the bed was extremely comfortable and there was a very big TV, although I didn't watch much as there was so much to see and do in Buenos Aires in the evening. The bathroom was one of the biggest I've ever seen in the hotel, with a ton of counter space, and a nice walk in shower, and a separate bath. All the furnishings seemed new and top quality, and as noted in another review, everything was set up very nicely for business too.

The health club had an extensive range of workout machines, and the pool was nice too, if very very cold. It's not a particularly big pool, maybe 10m long, although that's just an estimate. Usually I had it to myself which was great.

The location of the hotel is good - it's in probably the safest area of Buenos Aires, and is only a short walk from the centre, and the Retiro business district. As mentioned in other reviews there are a lot of swanky restaurants nearby.

A few very minor complaints - internet access was expensive - something like £70 for a week, which I thought was way too high. Laundry was also costly, but a necessary evil for me as I was there for so long.

Anyway, in short, this was without doubt one of the best, if not the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Buenos Aires is an incredible city, and the Hilton is an incredible hotel. I'd like to pack it up and take it with me everywhere I go!

“Excellent hotel and location”

Hilton Buenos Aires

4 of 5 stars
Raleigh
Oct 20, 2008

The Hilton Buenos Aires in the Puerto Madero district is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The location, building, services, and access to convenient dining/shopping are unbeatable.

I stayed at the Hilton for a week during a business trip and got a room with a fantastic view in one of the top floors. I was traveling with 20+ others from my company and everyone was very pleased with the hotel.

Rooms are spacious, furniture is top of the line, bed and sheets are very comfortable, bathroom is luxurious. Service is prompt and efficient. Only minor complaint is that Internet service didn't work in my room and they had to relocate me to another room that had working Internet service.

Excellent dining, shopping and even a trendy dance club are walking distance from the hotel.

“Fabulous Hotel in Buenos Aires!”

Hilton Buenos Aires

Oct 6, 2008

I just returned from a 4 night /5 day stay at the Hilton Buenos Aires and I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. It is a very modern hotel with great amenities and very well located with tons of restaurants nearby and a great view of the Puerto Madero bridge. The staff and concierge were also excellent and very accommodating with everything we needed - from dinner plans and show tickets to exchanging money and helping with transportation. This is one of the best Hiltons out there and I would highly recommend it...

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Modern, immaculate cleanliness, great service...
    • Disliked — A bit of a drive (15-20 min) to Palermo where we ate almost every night for dinner, but not a big deal - otherwise, very well located

“Great fitness centre”

Hilton Buenos Aires

4 of 5 stars
Sydney, Australia
Sep 11, 2008

As previously reported, the hotel is in a good location, close to the CBD, shops, restaurants, transport etc. It IS a very touristy area and it can get very busy, especially on the weekends. The staff are very polite and professional and are English speaking. The room was very well appointed and spacious. The best thing about the hotel for me was the gym - it is very well equipped with a range of different machines and it is also staffed by a group of knowledgeable attendants. The pool was quite pleasant too; it is a rooftop, heated pool overlooking the city. Great view and great atmosphere.

Be careful though, the hotel doesn't tell you that they don't replenish your coffee and teabags and if you ask for more teabags you are unknowingly charged around AUD3.50, a ridiculous amount of money PER silly little teabag! We received a nasty surprise at checkout. Way to go for a "5 star" establishment! It was really low on their part, especially since we were not told of this ridiculous policy upon check in. What, are they going to start charging for toilet paper soon?

On the other hand, they WERE kind enough to store our suitcases for 5 days while we went to visit Mendoza ...
