We were upgraded to this lovely hotel due to a mix-up with our reservation at another hotel.
This small (50+ room) hotel has a lovely European flair. Our room was smallish by North American standards, but had a comfortable king-size bed, a lovely mini-bar, and a nicely-finished, but somewhat cramped, bathroom. They also had a small twin bed for our seven-year old daughter. The room would have been a lot roomier without the extra bed. There is free internet/wi-fi in the main lobby, so we didn't check out the internet access in the room.
Best of all, the hotel was removed from the noisy Buenos Aires traffic that we had heard in the other hotels and seemed quite quiet overall. We had our best night of sleep in Buenos Aires in this hotel. The only thing that disturbed me were the birds chirping early in the am.
The Breakfast buffet was lovely, although the breakfast nook can get crowded. Jorge/George and Pablo, the bell captains, were both excellent.
The staff spoke excellent English. One negative comment, there are no irons/ironing boards either in the rooms or available on request. If you want something ironed, you have to leave your items for ironing. According to the front desk, a former guest apparently burned down his room and since then, irons are not permitted.
I've read some of the other comments -- yes, the elevators are broom closet sized and slow. It all seems to add to the charm of the hotel. It reminds me of the hotels my parents stayed in when I was 6 years old.
If you want North American comfort -- you probably should stay at the Sheraton at Plaza San Martin -- at much higher prices.
