“Fantastic Fifu”

Fifu Guest House

Apr 6, 2008

we had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor which were beautifully furnished with great views over city. Each had a double bed, ensuite shower/loo, and a padded window alcove where our 8 & 9 year old daughters slept at no extra cost. Cost was 1500 rps each room.Restaurant and general lounging area on the roof (also with great views of the city) was very comfortable with a cool breeze despite the high temperatures. Food was good and reasonably priced with a choice of indian or western dishes eg pancakes, cereal. Tables were regularly cleaned with anti bacterial cleaner. We travelled with 4 children and this was a safe friendly home from home. Ideal for families or older travellers rather than low budget backpackers. The city is a 5 minute tuk tuk ride away (or probably 15 minute walk). Highly recommended.

Lovely place. Fifu and his entourage are very welcoming, especially to friends of Dorothy.

“Fantastic stay”

Fifu Guest House

Mar 13, 2008

This is a really lovely family gueshouse with spotlessly clean beautiful rooms, great food, lovely views and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They treated our 13yo son like a little brother and we felt quite safe leaving him there one evening while we went into the fort for dinner. Jaisalmer is a great place - one of the highlights of our trip to India and Fifu's made it even better!

“Fulfilling the expectations”

Fifu Guest House

4 of 5 stars
Oxenford, Australia
Mar 10, 2008

We booked this hotel based on the great reviews on tripadvisor, and all our expectations were fulfilled. The room was great and with simple but very attractive decoration. The building and the restaurant area were quiet, pretty and well mantained, and the staff was very friendly, helping, and, very importantly in India, not pushing at all to purchase any extra. They treated us like friends, and I will be happy to recommend them to my friends.

The hotel is a bit out of the city, but since it is not big, is just a 15 minutes pleasant walk, and the views of the fort from there are excellent.

The only down could be that the menu, though is not bad, is a bit overpriced for what it offers. But this doesn't hurt the overall opinion about the hotel, which is great.

“Great room and view”

Fifu Guest House

4 of 5 stars
Sydney, Australia
Mar 2, 2008

Because we were staying 2 nights over new years eve I had contacted Fifu several months in advance and confirmed my reservation. A couple of months later they contacted me because my reservation had been lost so the room I wanted was gone and only a ground floor room with no view remained.

For approximately US$30 a night the room was very good value. Furnished comfortably with traditional Indian handicrafts and a clean and modern bathroom.

There is a fabulous view of the fort from the rooftop restaurant and it is convenient enough to the fort but in a quiet spot. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Only gripe was the hygeine in the kitchen. We both felt a little sick in Jaisalmer and only ate there (nothing major though). The bottled water sold there isn't recommended - purify your own.

As usual in India, the bill included several items we didn't have, but this was fixed promptly.
