I have just returned from a week at the Domina Coral Prestige- very hot at this time of the year! The resort is like a small self contained village, about 10 mins and 50 pe from Naama Bay, but has all the amienities 'in-house'- a supermarket, souk, restaurants, bars and dive centre so really, you don't need to leave! The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly although they do seem to assume you already know your way around. An orientation is a good idea as it is a big resort. There are little buses that follow several routes and are very frequent or a Club car if you are staying at the Prestige. The only downfalls I think were that the 'multi media' tv wasn't working the whole week- no internet/paid films/radio etc and this is an ongoing problem apparently; they really need to have drinks waiters around the pools and beaches; some of the staff need to learn customer service and there is a lot of building work going on just along the beach which is noisy. Aside from that, the complex is well maintained, well run and the diving is amazing!

“Great, if big, resort”

Domina Coral Bay Prestige Hotel

We struggled to decided where to stay, having been to Sharm before, we knew we wanted to be on the beach with a jetty into the sea, rather than having to cross the main road to get there.

We were quoted on the Prestige by a travel agent, but the cost for two people, one week, was horrendous, £2760!! So we ended up booking the Aquamarine Pool hotel for over half that cost. But negotiated an upgrade direct with the hotel...

The Domina Coral Bay resort is huge, and houses about 6 or 7 different 'hotels'... The Oasis being the biggest and cheapest area..

The Prestige was I think the smallest area and allowed you access into anywhere on the complex, and allowed you to dine anywhere, without supplement, providing you were on the half board package. The service was first class. We had the pool to ourselves on a regular basis! We also had a golf cart to use 24/7... just ask at reception and within seconds a driver appeared to take you anywhere on the resort.. which was great, as it was a long walk in the heat! The upgrade also allowed you private car to and from the airport (although I will say that someone in the chain did not sort our upgrade, despite having emails, and we had to make our own way from the airport.... glad we had been before as we knew the ropes!!!)

It was well worth the extra money for the half board option. We dined in various outlets in the evening, and apart from the Oasis buffet, none were particularly crowded or busy.

The kebab house was great, the steak house good, and we can honestly say that if we had stayed in the cheapest Oasis area, the buffett that was included was great, and included free drinks too! (Although the white wine was warm and he could not find any that was cool).. Not particularly impressed with the fish restaurant, crabs were titchy, like you would find under a rock on the beach in the UK and the fish,,, mmm not sure...

Namma Bay was as ever in the evening, plenty to do, and I could not come home without having a beer in the Hardrock and one on the roof of the Camel Bar!!

Again, having been before you get an idea of where to go, what to do and what to pay!
We managed to get the taxi fare down to 20egyptian (£2 UK), from Namma Bay to our hotel!
And came home with a good selection of t shirts, none of which cost more that £2 each!!

If diving, I would thoroughly recommend the Red Sea Diving College. They are in Naama Bay, not far from the jetty where the dive boats are mored. They are a really nice bunch of people, many are english, and the are very professional and helpful. The boats the use are great and the food they prepare is excellent.

I did do a house reef dive at the Domina, but am sorry to say that the overall experience was not brilliant, the instructor Italian, and the house reef was no where near as pretty as that further down the coast at Middle Garden where the Hyatt is (and Red Sea Diving College have a site there too).. and it cost me around £40 for dive, bcd and regs!

So,,, overall impression,, Prestige Great, but unless you have loads of money, not sure I would pay the full amount asked for by travel agents. If you go on a budget and end up with Oasis and Aquamarine,, I dont think you would be disappointed.. you get what you pay for...

“2 Weeks at the Prestige”

Domina Coral Bay Prestige Hotel

Stopped at Domina Prestige for 2 weeks (26 Nov to 11 Dec 05).
The Prestige is the upper class of the Domina resort which sits at the quieter end of the Domina Resort some 10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes taxi from Naama Bay.
The Prestige allows you access all areas and restaurents, with sole use of 2 pools at the Prestige Hotel, a Private Beach and free access to the Elisir Health area (Gym and Spa facilities). At this time of year the whole resort was very quiet, particularily the Prestige, less than 2 or 3 couples around either pool max, and a dozen on a busy day on the Prestige Beach area. The Resort was predominantly occupied by Russian or neighbouring country nationals, a number of Italians and a sprinkling of British, but again at this time of year no where within the resort was busy and the weather was superb 25 degrees plus! The recommendation for this resort would be to stay at the Prestige as it offers the best of the location even whilst quiet. A totally relaxing time was had, no pressures or hassle from staff who were extremely attentive and helpful without being intrusive.

“Unforgettable place!”

Domina Coral Bay Prestige Hotel

We spent one week at the end of September in this Hotel and had what you call 'real holidays'...When we arrived at the airport a private car was waiting for us. The resort is located between the airport and Naama Bay and therefore recommended as being really safe and quiet! The service of the hotel was excellent, we had our private beach, private pool and free entrance to the spa, gym, night club and any restaurant of the resort. Prestige is the smaller but also the smartest hotel of the resort. Our room had sea view and was huge! facilities inside included jacuzzi bath, CD player, TV, complimentary fruit basket and water, mini bar, safe and poster king size bed! The room had also a lovely balcony in the aramic design style with an exceptonal view on the red sea! the room cleaning service was twice a day and room service was also very good....check out on the Domina website to find some photos (the reality is exactly like on the pictures!!!)...As the resort is quite big we had a private driver whenever we wanted! Each hour at the private beach or pool we received complimentary drinks (fruit juices, white wine, tea, etc) or fresh towels! we had also as many towels that we need everyday!...The snorkelling is also great with full of fishes and colourfull corals! the sea was really clear and enables us to take wonderful underwater pictures! We did two main excursions: snorkelling trip to Ras Mohamed National Park by boat (£25) and the Pyramids in Cairo by plane (£175). Seeing the pyramids was exceptional and we will definitively recommend it to anybodybefore leaving Egypt as it makes your trip so special!... We also went to the Old Sharm market twice during the week to go shopping and eat (much cheaper than in the resort or Naama Bay)! This was also a great experience and the using Egyptian taxis were really fun! We paid £3 each way to go there from the resort. The money currently used is the Egyptian pounds however they accept Euros, GBP and dollars. The food in the resort is good but as expensive as in London! the alcoholic drinks (incl. wine) are awful and very expensive!!! The only disapppointing things was that most of the employees in the resort mainly speak Italian or Russian and don't perfectly understand English....this can create some confusion! Except this we will definitively recommend this hotel to anyone (check out as the sea view rooms are usually often booked since ages!) and will be ready to go back!

Domina Prestige 5 * 100%
Spent a week at this hotel wish it could of been two.
First of all the room. Towles 2~3 times a day these are changed and room tidied ,bed turned down. Slippers & dressinggown proived. Fruit bowl, water chilled ready to greet you when you arrive at your room.
Rooms are big plenty of storage, 2 x sofas on balcony & table, table in room 2x chairs & sofa. Bathroom shower & bath (Wirlpool), 4 x Large towels 4 x hand towels 2 x face towels.
Private pool and private beach, towles provided on sun loungers.
While we were relaxing by the pool and on the beach cold face towels were bought to us every hour or so. Cold melon juice or sparkling wine were also served to us every hour or so at no extra charge what a service !
The spa is very good free entry to spa pools , this we could not miss arriving at 5.30 pm we lazyed about catching the last of the sun rays while sitting in hot whirlpools untill the moon came out what a way to unwind , soft music playing in the back groundand low lighting perfect.
The resterants are good in the resort but prices are quite high for egypt. We went into town some nights £3.00 each way in taxi Narma bay is great for a nigth out, all food types, bars shows, you name it , its there.
The hotel staff are great will do anything to help.
The hotel has club cars to take you around the resort so you can be very lazy. (I WAS)
There is a disco , drinks are very expensive.
We would go back to this hotel again one of the best in sharm, 5* all the way.
Beaches are wonderful , many fish on the reef to see, man made saltlake
with bar if you dont want to go to the beach.
This hotel is what you want it to be .
