just come back from a fantastic stay at the marriot beach resort in sharm el sheikh with my two best female friends. i am writing this review as a person who is very fussy and will only stay in 4 or 5 * hotels and i can honestly say the marriot is on of the best hotels i have stayed in.
THE HOTEL: when we arrived we could not believe how classy and beutifull the hotel looked from the outside (way better than pictures on website show) we stayed in a room looking over the pool and the room was beautiful with very good air conditioning, comfy beds and the rooms are cleaned and fresh towels provided every day. the pool was cleaned every day and as we stayed here from the 15th to the 22nd july (very hot) which meant the pool was very warm but good to cool down. everything about this hotel is just beautiful and it looks amazing when it is lit up at night. you can also swim at all hours with staff working all night. we stated at the marriot on a half board basis and the breakfasts are great hugeee amount of choice.
THE BEACH: the beach is literally next to the hotel about a 30 second walk and is very beautiful.. wearing flip flops on the sand is essential because it gets very hot! plenty of free sun loungers and the beach is for guests of the marriot only. the sea is very clear with tropical fish swimming around your feet! there is a beach bar and a fresh fruit bar on the beach which is lovely when you need to get out of the sun for a drink!
i noticed someone mentioned about the main road outside the hotel being very dangerous but there is no need for guests to use the main road at any point of the holiday as there is a a walkway all the way down into naama bay by the beach which is lined with cafes, quite bars, restaurants and some other hotels. we stayed here for a week and only once did we cross the main road outside reception to use the supermarket.
namma bay itself is very busy when you get the the end of the quieter walkway you find your self in the busier area where there are pubs, bars, cafes and nightclubs as well as a few shops. even if you do not fancy going into the bars ect it is a great experience just walking down the strip taking a look around, if you do fancy the clubs/ bars side of things then i recommend little budda, cammel bar and going into pasha at least once is a must.
i could go on writing more and more about what a great resort this is. there is something to suit everyone and the marriot beach resort is simply beautiful, everything about it was perfect.
highly recommend going on a snorkeling/ diving trip.. very cheap 130 Egyptian pounds (14 uk pounds ish) it was a brillaint excursion and the company we went with was Mr Diver which were very professional as i am usually quite suspicious whether company's are fully licensed to run these type of excursion .. i highly recommend using Mr Diver.
Have a great holiday!
