“I can see why it's #1”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

I was staying in the hotel on business and so didn't get much chance to take advantage of the facilities, but what I did see I was very impressed with.

As is quite usual in Egypt, the staff were very friendly. However, what is quite unusual for Egypt is that they also seemed very competent.

The room was very nice - looked as if it has been refurbished a year or two ago. A few knocks here and there, but I thought that it was very good value for money.

Living in Hurghada, I know that Hilton license their brand to some very poor hotels, but this one is definitely up to Hilton standards.

The location was excellent - within easy walking distance of all of the attractions of Naama Bay.

In short, I can recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel in a great location at an affordable price.

“A really great holiday”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

We stayed at the Hilton Fayrouz for 14 nights from 22nd June 2008. Overall the stay here was very good indeed.
The highlights of this hotel were:
Location & layout of the hotel
Pirates bar
Very friendly staff that can not do enough for all the guests
Great beach with great facilities & location
Clean rooms that are well laid out & furnished.

The lows were:
Only one - the air conditioning in room 223 was not good, but we got by.

The main reason for my wife & I to be at this location was for the diving, we dived with the on site dive centre (Sinai Dive Club). They were fantastic, they looked after our ever need. In total we did 8 days of diving & during this time made 22 dives. The dive guides are really professional and have a sense of humour which always helps. The hard boats that they use are second to none and the overall experience is very good indeed – from transporting to the docks to lunch on the boats you get the complete experience when you dive with this centre.
A little tip, if you dive with Sinai Dive Club and book in advance by e-mail you get a 10% discount (e-mail: info@dive-club.com) they cater for non divers as well.

Back to the hotel: If you stay here you must go to the pirates bar, they have a really good set up and a reasonable menu for snacks etc. If you go you must try a ‘Dallas burger’ – I will say no more on this!

Would I recommend this hotel – Yes
Would I go back to this hotel – Yes, this was our 4th time at this hotel and dive centre.

“Loved the Hilton Fayrouz”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

Jul 9, 2008
4/4 found this review helpful

I have just returned from a 1 week stay at the Hilton Fayrouz . I travelled with my partner and 15 year old son on our first visit to Sharm. We wanted a complete rest and we certainly picked a good spot.

I booked directly with the hotel and found they were very good at responding to queries throughout the booking process. I asked them to send a car to collect us from the airport and their driver was waiting as we arrived. The cost for this was £12 one way.

We were checked in very quickly and our bags were brought down to us immediately we entered the room. We had booked a Deluxe Family Room with a terrace and it had a queen and single bed in. The room is clean and fresh with my only criticism being the bathroom was a little 'tired' but that is nit-picking and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water and clean towels.

The hotel has excellent facilities and there is little need to leave the hotel site if you don't want to but it is in a great location for walking into Na'ama Bay and it is a shame not to.

We were on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was first class. I personally wouldn't go on half board as it is nice to wander to the many bars and restaurants close by for variety. We did have dinner at the Italian restaurant on site and it was good (excellent pizzas).

The staff were very attentive and polite and really couldn't do enough for you. The gardens surrounding the hotel were immaculate as were the four pools. The hotels private beach is the biggest in Na'ama Bay with no problems getting sunbeds and umbrellas. The staff from the hotel's beach bar walk regularly up and down the beach and get drinks and food to order.

We were very lazy and did not take any trips other than a snorkelling boat trip via the Sinai Divers based in the hotel. This was a half day trip taking you out to the coral reefs and well worth the trip. One word of warning the sea is very choppy and a lot of people (including me) felt very sea sick by the time we reached the reef.

All in all and great hotel and location for both couples and families. If you have not visited Sharm before it is definitely worth a visit but the temperature in July was, if I'm honest, too hot. If we return it will be later or earlier in the year and not during the summer months.

A first class hotel and I can understand why the rating on Trip Adviser is so high.

“Dated Accommodation, but great beach”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

Jun 30, 2008

We have just returned from a one-week stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is fairly large, with apartments (at the front, by the main road), or one-storey rooms nearer the beach end. Check-in was good, and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Check-out was also good, but they were unable to accommodate us with holding the room until our pick up at 6.30pm. In fairness, this may have been because they were getting busy.

Accommodation: As the other reviews stated, the accommodation was definitely dated. We did have a problem with big red ants, and sufferred a few nasty bites, but it was kept clean, and had air-conditioning and a fridge. The displays with the duvet were pretty impressive. We had a front row room, which was by the beach and the fish restaurant. They have nice terraces, but we found it a tad hot to sit out there!

Complex: The complex has a lot to offer in terms of tennis court, gym, pools, restaurants, and bars. Bear in mind though that the bars and restaurants are NOT air-conditioned and get quite hot. Was lovely to eat el-fresco. Food finishes about 10.30pm, so eat on the plane if you have a late flight in. The pirates bar beside main reception offers snack food and drinks, and has large TVs music. The fish restaurant was very good, but not that cheap, and breakfasts were good. The beach was lovely, and great for snorkelling. The men in the red/white striped shirts give you beach towels, and locate you a sunbed with parasol. We tipped them, and they did put out our towels each day to reserve our spot. Men in the blue/white striped shirts, are there for food and drink orders. We tried the steak, and the tuna sandwich which were nice. They also did pizzas and burgers though with fries. Bottled water from local supermarkets were about £1.50 for a 1.5-litre.

Food: You can walk along the front and into the new town, there are lots of food and drinking places there. We tried the TAM TAM, which had dancing, and the food was good, a pizza place opposite the beach bar (which had flat screen TV's if you want to watch the football), was good, and the steak bar further down, which does lovely fish. Be aware that the prices do not generally include the 12% and 10% service or local tax charges. Lots of lively activity in the new town, and if you are missing MacDonalds or KFC, that is where you will find them.

All in all, a nice relaxing place, you do get hassled a bit, but that is to be expected in a country that relies heavily on its tourist trade. Hotel was nice, but I would feel more confident recommending the Hilton Sharks Bay, unless you prefer to be in a more lively, central spot.

“Not just another review”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

Jun 27, 2008
5/6 found this review helpful

There are so many reviews on this hotel and the majority are spot on. It is clean and tidy it is rated as 4 star by egyptian standards that is good.

The staff are exceptional if you treat them with some respect. They are not servants they are there to help you enjoy your holiday. If you are nice to them they will do anything for you.

Sorry I saw so many people rude to them it was an insult to there friendly nature. So please bear this in mind. You don’t speak Egyptian they speak very good English!

Ok some good pointers.

This is the best beach in Sharm and the staff are spot on. It is shared with Sharm dreams blue and black striped towels distinguish where they are from. Have a friendly word (a few Egyptian pounds).word with the beach boys red and white strip shirts and the sun lounger of your choice will be yours for the duration of the stay.

If you want to snorkel then you are going to need to go for a walk to the top left of the beach it is rubbish straight from the beach or get a boat trip.

The mini bar is a problem you need to remind them everyday in the morning it needs topping up we used it all the time and it became a standing joke as to if the bar was filled or not.

Book you taxi from the hotel direct it’s about 120 Egyptian which is about £12.00 just don’t bother fighting with them outside it’s not worth it and you get there with the charge billed to your room no hastle. They are normally grand voyager cars that pick you up.

If you only want to go to Naama Bay and not venture out even on the boats then you don’t need a visa. Watch the scrum for the visa its £10.00. Just get the standard form and tell immigration you are staying in Naama bay only. You will be through in a flash.
You can get a visa afterwards if you need to.

Some good restaurants are on the main drag.

Pompadora is good all round food. Behind pompadora is the Tandoori go through the Camel hotel reception and enjoy. I love curry and it was top class every time. If you want Egyptian then above the hard rock is a true Egyptian restaurant the entrance is to the right of hard rock up some stairs. The food is always good; service is a bit hit and miss when busy. The camel bar is good for drinks and some music.

If you like a drink and Clubbing and have seriously deep pockets go to Pacha or Buddha bar but you have been warned of the cost even by UK standards.

And finally my suggestion to you is take a couple of bottles of you favourite spirit on the way out it will save you a fortune. Get you fags out there you are looking at about £10.00 - £15.00 per 200 yes that is £1.50 a pack duty free.

Oh and finally Enjoy it we love going their.
