I would not recommend this hotel to anyone at anytime. It is in total disrepair and smells bad.

We only stayed one night and that was too long. The rooms are cramped and the bathroom was awful. When we complained that the light in the bathroom didn't work, they brought us a light bulb! It was a joke.

The staff was lazy and seemed put out if you asked for anything.

I can't believe that hotels.com even puts this place on line.

Don't stay here!!

The Coningsby Inn in Belize city was a great budget palce to stay. The rooms were large and quiet, the staff - and even their families - went out of their way to make us feel at home. The neighborhood is relatively safe, but afterall this is Belize city . However the hotel itself is very safety aware - you will feel safe here. Food was average, I recommend eating out - but if you are strapped- its always nice to be able to get some food right where you are staying.
