Stayed for 2 nights. The mother who I understand generally runs the place was out of the country during our stay so our interaction was with the oldest daughter and her husband both friendly and willing to help especially the husband a Belizian. The room was comparable to a hotel room with two doulble beds, nothing fancy but nice and very clean it did have a cable TV which made my boys happy as they could watch the All Star Game on ESPN . The a/c worked great the shower was hot with adequate pressure. Breakfeast in the mornings were fixed by a very nice local, one day pancakes, orange juice,coffee and fruit. Another day eggs, bacon, orange juice fruit and coffee. We found the neighborhood safe and had no problem walking to 2 nearby restaurants at night, one Italian the other Chinese.The only draw back I saw may be a table that only sat 4 for breakfeast. But as we were the only people staying it wasn't a problem for us. Our rate was US $78.50 per night plus taxes for 3 people.

We had a small room for 4 persons and would have preferred the larger, unoccupied room for the same price, but our request for this room was denied. Breakfast Sunday was great but breakfast Monday was very loud and crowded. We were the last to be seated at the very small and only table. There was not enough food or orange juice for the four of us and our requests for orange juice went unheeded. Our bathroom light was not working and was not fixed until we were checking out. One minute after exiting our room to leave and await our taxi in the front yard, our daughter was denied access to the bathroom in our room. This place is small and the owners turn off your a/c when you leave the room. I would recommend it only as a one night stop from the airport when arriving late. There are no places to eat nearby and taxi service to town can be costly. I would not stay here again. The neighborhood did not make me feel safe and as I walked 1/2 block to see the Cuban Embassy I was confronted with a large barking dog who snapped at me several times.

We stayed here in Dec. 2004 for two nights. I reserved everything via email and there were no problems. Francoise picked us up at the airport and we stayed in the detached bungalow. Our room was clean, had a king-sized bed and nice sized shower and bathroom. We had a little dining table and refrigerator in the room plus a safe. The grounds are full of pretty flowers and the breakfast was good -- pancakes and fruit one day; eggs made to order the next. She dropped us in Belize City free of charge, we just had to catch a taxi back. Belize City feels a little sketchy at night so it was nice to be in this quiet little suburb. Francoise keeps many guidebooks and information about various siteseeing tours on hand in the main house. She was very helpful with suggestions of where to go and how to travel. We took the bus to the Zoo one day and stopped along the way at a Historical Museum.

Villa Boscardi is a B&B that presents a charming front to the street and offers small, clean, motel-like rooms with a few pleasant touches. In the context of Belize City, it may seem like an oasis of order and polish, but the common rooms (including the kitchen) are not air-conditioned, and the windows don't close well enough to insure that Belize's ingenious mosquitoes and no-see-um's will stay out. The quality of the breakfast was not stellar, but the location is only 15 minutes at most from the airport, which is hard to beat if you have a morning flight out of Belize.
