I loved my stay at the Radisson Fort George. It was a lovely hotel with great Caribbean charm and ambience. We stayed in one of the tower rooms, and had an incredible view of the bay. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the "sleep number" beds were superb. The hotel staff was always helpful and courteous, and made our stay very enjoyable.

The hotel itself was centrally located, and was a good launching point for many tours... cavetubing, the Belize Zoo, and Mayan ruins. I would highly recommend taking the Xunantunich tour... it was an amazing experience. Our tour guide Israel was amiable and very knowledgable, and the price was very competitive.

Bottom line... if you have plans to stay in Belize City stay at the Radisson.

I'm so glad that I stayed at the Radisson Fort George the employees were genuinely kind and helpful. It is located in the heart of the tourist village where you have close access to great local restaurants. Their local cuisine made dining at the hotel a unexpected surprise. The tours were great. We only had time for two, the mayan ruin and the zoo, both of which I will never forget.

It is not that it is such a bad place to stay. It is relatively clean and comfortable. It is just that it is a faded upscale three-star hotel at four-star prices. It needs an overhaul - rubber seals coming out of the glass windows and doors, soap holder in the shower installed upside down, varnish on floors gone, frayed and sun-bleached curtains, etc. However, a big renovation is underway at this time - to the business office. Food seems average at best; BUT, across the street is the "Smokey Mermaid" restaurant for breakfast and down the street is the "Harbour View Restaurant" for lunch and dinner - both helping to make our three days at the Radisson a far more pleasant experience. If the Radisson is the best, as locals claim, I see no need to stop in Belize City again (other than to have a meal at one of the two mentioned restaurants). P.S. Had a great view of the water from our room’s window.

From the moment we were dropped off at the charming entrance of the hotel I could feel the stress of the “concrete jungle” creeping off me. There was an appeal to the place that I can’t exactly describe. I can’t say if it was the décor, the bright smiles that greeted me as a tourist or if it was the smell in the air (the smell of being home after being away for a long time). I was tickled pink with my club tower room overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The food was excellent, (the piña coladas were delicious) and the room was comfortable and clean but the staff was very friendly and accommodating in every department. When I return to Belize the Radisson will be my first and only choice.
