From the moment we were dropped off at the charming entrance of the hotel I could feel the stress of the “concrete jungle” creeping off me. There was an appeal to the place that I can’t exactly describe. I can’t say if it was the décor, the bright smiles that greeted me as a tourist or if it was the smell in the air (the smell of being home after being away for a long time). I was tickled pink with my club tower room overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The food was excellent, (the piña coladas were delicious) and the room was comfortable and clean but the staff was very friendly and accommodating in every department. When I return to Belize the Radisson will be my first and only choice.

We made the mistake of spending a night in Belize City. That city is a dump. If you are going to Belize, don't stay in Belize City. Go immediately out to an island, or stay outside of town at Black Orchid Resort (excellent place).

However, if you absolutely, positively must stay in Belize City, then the Radisson is probably the best place to stay. We stayed in a tower room, which is the best room in the hotel. It was nice, and the view was good. Actually, I have no complaints about the room itself. It was actually wonderful.

The food in the restaurant was OK, too. Nothing special.

If you are in Belize City during the day, my recommendation is to get out of Belize City. We took a boat trip out to Caye Caulker for the day and had a great time. Go swimming at "the split".

My girlfriend and I stayed here one night so that we could return our rental car the next day. All I can say is that this is a strange place where I paid for an executive room only to have to walk up and down the stairs because they couldn't get the elevator to work.

Everywhere else in Belize I found the people friendly and helpful but at this hotel I would just make one comment to the general manager if I could find him: "Why don't you send your entire staff to the Bahamas and that way raise service levels in both places".

I was delighted with my recent four night stay at the Radisson. I arrived at the hotel at approximately 11:00 AM and after a quick and efficient check-in, I was on my way to my Club Tower room. The room was very spacious and offered a terrific view of the Caribbean Sea. The king sized bed was a Sleep Number model and quite comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dated, but more than functional with plenty of counter space. Each evening the housekeeper would come for turndown service and leave chocolates on my pillow and either a note about the hotel's events the following day or a prayer for the traveler. The service at the hotel was warm and welcoming from start to finish. I had good meals at all three of the hotel's eateries. The Sunday brunch in the St. George's dining room was especially good and I also enjoyed beginning each day with a trip to Le Petit Cafe bakery. The hotel is on a quiet street in a section of the city heavy with colonial charm. The grounds of the hotel include attractive places to sit and take in the sea air. Overall the Radisson was excellent value for the money and I would not hesitate to return.
